30th Anniversary G.I. Joe 3.75" Wave 2 Figures Released in Canada

Thanks to a sighting made by AFN member Tonestar, we now know that wave 2 of the 3.75" 30th Anniversary G.I. Joe figures has finally hit Canadian retail. The second wave, aka the G.I. Joe Renegades wave, consists of Cobra Commander, Duke, Snake Eyes, and Firefly.

The sighting was made at a Toys "R" Us in Ontario.

I'm not surprised, while the design was impressive for the show I just don't feel it at all and have no plans to pick up any of the Renegades figures.

Provided I can ever get everything I want from the Modern Era of Joe (25th Ann-30th Ann) I'll have more than enough Cobra Commanders, Snake-Eyes, Dukes and anyone else they made more than one or two versions of to last anyone's lifetime. I think that's the real problem with the Modern Era, since back in the days of GIJoe Vs. Cobra when they introduced the poorly recieved new sculpts that almost killed the distribution of Joes (and introducted Diaper Crotches among other things) Hasbro has been recently far too many variants/versions of certain characters.

The line used to have a lot more diversity in the 80s, oh sure they had like half a dozen versions of Snake-Eyes running around and a good number of Cobra Commanders or Dukes, but they tended to feature more new characters and such. With a lot more diversity and far more female releases. We haven't even gotten a Modern Era Zarana at Retail yet and it's going to be a pain tracking down her SDCC Exclusives just so I can finally have her. (Hell I still need to order the two BBTS Exclusive 7-Packs)

Many Joe fans probably share my complaints though, considering I seem to recall someone once jokingly say that GIJoe should be renamed the Duke & Snake-Eyes Club with Friends. (Or something to that effect.)

Great news though, um, was the first case/wave ever released? And are these on Bilingual Cards or the US Card Backs? Because I noticed a few amongst the PoC stuff once that had US Cards. And I was curious.

I finally got a price for them at the TRU in Pickering and they came up $9.99 like all the other Joes...kudos to the TRU for not bumping them up...yet...

I'm still hoping that TRU or Walmart will get in Wave 3 and 4. Would definitely like to get a Renegades Storm Shadow and more Zombie Vipers. :D
