View Full Version : Who is excited for the new TMNT figs?

I was just drooling over images of the new Turtle figs which seem to boast unprecedented articulation (for a Turtle) and great sculpts... particularly interested in the designs for the new Nickelodeon cartoon as they seem based on the appearance of the turtles in the original comics (sort of like the Neca versions).

Anyone else getting antsy for these? Even if I don't end up collecting the line I can see the original four making some nice desk-porn.

I've got my eyes on the classics line to start, maybe just the turtles in the new line as well pending on prices

I am really excited for the Classics line! The animated line looks awesome as well, just no room or money for both of them though. I want to find a way to get that sewer playset, its so incredibly awesome.

This is something I might pick up if I see it at retail. I'm not going to go out of my way to hunt them down though or preorder.

I googled and wow they look awesome!

Brings back fond memories as a lad, collecting the bw comics, (cheesy) films/cartoons, and hours at the arcade playing the game - on 1 quarter w/ Donatello :)

Tough as it is (in most cases) I'm skipping... I've got to keep to my main interests (DC/Marvel). But the "unless" conditions really get me...i.e. low price, in-hand weak-willed breakdown, etc..

I hear you, man the sheer scale of that playset is mind boggling - been years since a playset that ambitious has come down the pipe (no pun intended)

Agreed... I'm not going to get raped on Ebay for these or order them special, but if they end up at the local TRU I'll liberate them fo' sho.

I'm going to try and convince my 8 year old that he needs the play set and the animated figures for christmas haha then pick them up on sale at retail if possible.

As for the Classics.. I want them bad but like everyone else money and self space is at a premium. With me jumping on the MLs bangwagon again (was trying my hardest not to but the figures were too awesome in person) that takes away both of those from me. So do i cut something from my self? Ghostbusters perhaps? G1 TFs? I already took down my vintage He-Man stuff to make room for MLs.. decisions decisions.

I think I might pre-order them and deal with the fall out of shelf space later! They can share with the SH Figuarts Dragonball figures i have to make room for that are sitting in my pile of loot.

6" Classics for me, they're looking pretty great so far. Hopefully we see more than just the 4 turtles, or at least Splinter and Shredder.

This for me too.

I like the Classics line only, I'll probably buy them if I see them, but it's not high on my priority list.

6" Classics for me as well, though like everyone else I'm only gonna pick them up if I see them at retail.

Same here. The 6" classics figures are great, but they are not on the top of my list of stuff to collect. If I do see them, I'll probably pick up Don and Ralph. :D

Same as everyone here. If I see em, I might try one out to see. I can't imagine these topping the NECA ones though.

I'm getting the 6" Classics line for sure.
The new toon series though, they looked really good with the painted prototypes but the actually in hand early reviews seems to indicate that they are only casted in green plastic with minimal paint apps.

I'm definitely getting the Classics, uh, but I thought they were in a new 4'' closer to Joe scale. What's with all this 6'' stuff?

pattycakeman

I thought the were the same size as the old turtles which were closer to 4" than 6"

Anyone know why BBTS isnt shipping them to Canada anymore?

Pre-Ordered a set of the Classics from BBTS, their pile of loot is killing my pocket book. My wife is going to kill me when she sees then box of toys.

It seems like BBTS will not be shippping any of the new TMNT toys outside of USA. Playmates instructed them to do so.

I'm thinking of ordering a case of them if anyone living in Vancouver is interested. There should be 3 sets of 4 Turtles in a case so I'm looking for 2 more people to share the case with. The price should be around $70 per set. PM me pls! :)

In case anyone's wondering Toys R Us Canada's website now has both the new 4" Nickelodeon and the 6" Retro TMNT figures up for pre order on their site.

$21.99 is a little steep for them but I definately can't knock how good they look (and very close to Marvel Legend's articulation too).

$21.99 is quite a bit, $2 more than an Marvel Legends figure, which is already pretty expensive. They look pretty good though, but I may have to wait for a sale before buying them. We'll see though, maybe if I see them in person I'd be inclined to get one or two right away.

I think I may do the same actually, especially if I want to get all four. Online pics versus in-hand are sometimes night and day differences, lol.

I just hope they make it to most retailers like Walmart and not just TRU exclusives.

The preorder is for the sound effects version. Personally I want the regular non gimmicky ones, and the Retro ones. $21.99 is a bit much though.

I'd like to compare prices on the Classic on BBTS and Legends, but I can't find the shipping cost in Legends...

I think BBTS isn't shipping the new TMNT lineup outside of the States.

Go to Silver Snail in downtown Toronto. They have them today (Wednesday, July 18) for 19.99. Even better, you can order them from Amazon.com and get them for $90 which includes shipping and import duties. Pretty good deal, actually.

I'm not excited. The classics figures look like total garbage. And the animated stuff is ok but not great.

Anyone have any idea on what the retail price is for the new standard figs here are? I just picked up Don and Leo from the US at TRU of all places for 9 bucks ea

Snail sold out by late lunch time - I think I got the last 3 - I'm missing Raph.

Does Amazon US send toys to Canada? I thought that they couldn't.

Apparently they can. I ordered on Tuesday night and they shipped out yesterday. It's worth it for all four. With shipping, it comes out to comparable Canadian prices.

Yeah, I've ordered from them before and they do ship to Ontario here.

If anyone's on the fence for the new "retro" TMNT figures, they are definately worth the $17.99-$21.99 range they are going for now. They have been Marvel-Legendized with articulation and some sweet weapon accessories, but with all the classic look of the originals.

Yes total garbage. The arms are an abortion, and the lower legs are almost as bad. More figures ruined by too much articulation. And the animated look for the heads is never a good thing.

Does anyone know when the 4" new TMNT figures are scheduled for release? I read in the Previews magazine that it's for an August release date, but those dates tend to change a lot.
