Okay, let's see some collections! I know a bunch of you guys have some good stuff, so cough it up!
I'll go first; Here's my modest 3 3/4" collection :D. Alas, my limited budget has forced a reduction in size over the past few months.

Neat, I didn't know those DCUC Stands worked for MU... I sorta bought 2 GI Joe Stands, though for WO Wolvie it doesn't really fit, how's the fit with the DC stands?
Nice collection btw, all my figures (from all lines) are a mess right now or I'd take pics too... Eventually. :)

Well, they don't fit that well either. The pegs are too narrow. I'm just using them temporarily until Hasbro comes out with proper stands. They just give them a bit more stability, is all. I heard some of the HTS Star Wars stands work, though I wouldn't know.
Icetron
04-07-2009, 04:00 AM
Yeah, it's odd how Hasbro adds holes to the bottom of figures but don't have proper stands for them. Another odd thing is the exclusion of holes for some of their MLs, but the recent ones I got have them.
The GI Joe stands I got fit pretty well for Deadpool but doesn't really fit for Wolvie. It does add stability like you say though.
Robimus
04-07-2009, 10:33 AM
For Star Wars Hasbro changed the hole size in 1995. So the old stands from the 80's that fit both GIJOE and Star Wars don't work for the 1995 and forward figures :(

Dude, that is a classy set-up! Me likey! Are those the spot-lights they(Ikea) recommend for the case? Grundtal they used to be called. Anyway, just be careful cause if they are, they generate quite a bit of heat, so don't put anything too close. I had some in my Detolfs (if it's the same light), and took them out in favor of some LCDs instead. They have the Dioder(LCD), but they're pretty pricey(like $80 for a four pack i think).
Anyway, looks awesome dude!

My wife's 80 gallon aquarium is nearing the end of its life. We're going to upgrade with the new one, probably to 120 gallons. This is relevant in that I'm going to use the old 80 gallon tank for toy display. Will probably get some sort of lighting hooked up as well. Not sure when this will happen, but once it does, I'll snap some pics for you guys.

So I was sitting in my toy room the other day staring at my collection and decided to redo everything for the 10th time. What creative ways can I display my toys? Risers are a must! I also use the White Lack wall shelves and the wall corner shelves. Now other then that… I am lost for display ideas.
Only thing is… every time I start doing this, it ends up looking the same as before! I’m so tempted to ask my wife to do it for me maybe she’ll come up with a better looking display! Wahahaha… yeah rite!
Now how do you guys displace your stuff???... By theme - generation, Animated, Size, black, clear…? And what display units do you use?
I have them displayed by character, generation, size and boxed.
Here a few toys from my collection:

Some of my Street Fighter toys, just wanted to keep a photo record of what the set up was like before moving them out in favor of MU stuff. I think the only character I'm missing that SOTA made was Blanka, who I just never got around to getting (looks I'm gonna have to resort to ebay). I would have bought the rest of Revoltech Street Fighter characters, but they were really expensive at about $30-$35 a piece when I was in Vancouver.
Not pictured are the NECA SF4 figures (Ryu, Ken, C. Viper, Akuma, Chun-Li, and Guile); SOTA R. Mika, Gouken (open mouth version, closed mouth version, and yellow gi variant), Ken in yellow Gi, Shin Akuma (purple gi and black), Cannon Spike Cammy, and I believe Shin (dark?) Sakura. All those SOTA ones were kept mint, I was gonna open R. Mika but couldn't really find space for her. Oh, I also have those out of scale SOTA Street Fighter Preview figures: Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Shin Ryu, Shin Akuma, and Dan. Dan came with alternate crying head (haha), while Ryu came with a pretty cool Tatsumaki accessory and Akuma a fireball (kept the Shin versions mint). I'll post pictures of the rest of these guys when I get around to cleaning out the ol' closet.

I think Haggis is into ACBA as well?
ACBA as described on their Facebook page:
"Articulated Comic Book Art (abbreviated A.C.B.A) is a visual art form first recognized [June 15th 2009] by a passionate group of the action figure collecting community and is best exemplified by the efforts of this community who display their work on the website, YouTube, as well as in their homes and at their local hobby shops. The term 'Articulated Comic Book Art' was coined by [Kendel Gray aka Boognice10] as he is considered the pioneer of this art form. The term A.C.B.A. has come to represent a growing venture of display art in local venues such as comic book stores, hobby shops, toy/comic book conventions and other related outlets. At its most basic level, Articulated Comic Book Art is akin to the miniature dioramas found in many museums, and as the name implies, the subject matter is influenced by comic book/superhero themes that pay homage to the Marvel, DC, and independent Comic Book universes. A.C.B.A makes use of highly articulated action figures in either the 1/12th (6") or 1/18th (3 3/4") scale, incorporating elaborate background sets, dynamic/dramatic lighting, scaled props, inserted paper dialogue balloons and comic book style sound effects with the end result emulating scenes lifted right from the source material. Due to the nature of this medium, the individual artist is not chained to any of these concepts and liberties are often taken.

I know there are specifics, but generally if you post them as attachments, they'll shrink them down for you to an appropriate size. Or just link a photobucket account or something for people to browse. As far as what you should work on, only you can answer that one my friend.
