Bane's "yellow fire" accesseries are his Sith Orbalisk's, symbiot creatures that attach themselves to a Force User. They make a nearly inpenitrible armor but also will kill the user if one can't control them.

Bane himself has actually had a lot more exposure as a character than Nihilus does, having been featured in 2(soon to be three) full novels and numerous Darkhorse comics.

He is the founder of the "Rule of Two" Sith, as presented in the films.

That said ask the average person or causal star wars fan who the three are and most (including me) draw a blank on Bane.

Thats just cause he's on the cover of the Video Game.:p

Actually I think most casual fans would have no clue who either of them are.
