I'm just wondering what people would consider a variant? A variant to me is something the manufacturer intentionally creates in limited numbers as a chase figure or highly soughtafter figure to the collecting community. eg: Snake Eyes with timber, vs Snake Eyes with Black Timber.

Anything else I consider a quality control problem or manufacturing error. (eg: wrong figure in packaging, missing parts, paint mistakes, etc).

Are figures with errors worth anything? 'Cause I normally check my figures pretty closely before I buy them and whenever I see a mistake, I toss it back on the shelf. Perhaps I should be hanging onto them?

I don't think theres much of a market for errors and i suspect value depends on the type of error and/or what figure it is.

I got into for the chance of owning a one of a kind like this one.
Barbecue, with no silver paint on the lower part of the mask.

Cool thing is, this paint job matches the card art.

Have you ever seen a figure get a different paint job than it always gets and ends up matching the card art? Why has Barbecue always and forever been painted differently than the card art?

I also have 2 iron grenadier gold head Destros that have a black not gold studded neck collar to match the card art again

I like the BBQ matching the card art. I don't own any variants, but I do have a Shipwreck with shark tatoo in the mail for me. Should be receiving it in a couple weeks. :)

Yeah, he's my first true variant. I finally managed to find one for a decent price. Normally I don't bother with Variants on the secondary market, cause I don't think it's worth it, but I couldn't pass on him, especially since I don't have a MOSC Shipwreck to begin with. He's on his way with a Doc, which was one I always wanted also. Finally got him! I'll have to hunt another one down, cause I want one to open. :D

Hey guys. :) I'm new here. found out about your awesome forum because I was researching about error cards when I stumbled upon this thread. :)

I don't know if this could be considered an error/variant card... but I spotted this at a toy store years ago:

picked it up for the heck of it. :) I don't know if it falls under the error card category... but it sure is one big error. hehehe :p
