Iron Man movie figures

Does anyone have any idea if any of the later waves will ever come to Canada? I'm talking about ones like the Heavy Artillery and Gold Mark 01 armors and not the not-yet-released ones like Punisher armors.

I just really want the Heavy Artillery and Gold Mark 01 ones, but TRUs around here seem to keep stocking the Satellite Armor/Captain America/Hot Zone/Inferno ones and the Punching Monger/Mark 03/Prototypes randomly when they do restock.

nah, I've just seen up to the Hot Zone/ Inferno/ Subterranean Armors, and that has only been at Wal-mart. Seems like Toys R Us is stuck with the satellite armor/Cap Armor set. I hope we get the newer waves, I want my armory to grow

Zellers in my area JUST started stocking the Hotzone/Inferno/Battle Monger wave. I have every confidence that all the waves will make it to Canada, it will probably just take a while, as there have been huge time gaps between the waves so far.

I don't want the 3 3/4 scale, it's like starting from square 1 all over again! :mad: The 6-inchers are vastly superior in my opinion. It's a shame so many toylines are reverting to the 3 3/4 line, not my most favorite scale, but I guess they know what works. :rolleyes:

^ I've warmed up to other 3-4" lines but not really for the Marvel figures. I've been really interested in GI Joe and CW. I think it's mostly due to the fact that MU rarely have any good deals/sales going on.

I'm only really interested in a War Machine and Classic IM from the new IM line.

The "do not put out before date" on the open case was, I believe March 1st so the official start to our general dissapointment is probably next week. This Wallys in particular NEVER pays attention to dates on cases because the associates who work in the section are oblivious to such things.In more responsible Walmarts these cases will probably be tossed to the side and forgotten about until April or something. At least TRU will have theirs out.

Yep, I've learned very early in life (1994 or there abouts, while trying to track down Jurassic Park series II figures) to never, ever, EVER rest your hopes on a place like Wal-Mart.

I have a good friend who manages a TRU store in TO, I'm hoping next week I'll have access to all the IM2 figs and get the TRU staff discount to boot.

I picked up Stealth Operations Iron Man and Crimson Dynamo. I checked all 6 pegs and there was no War Machine. Multiples of the rest.

Just wanted to post my thoughts.

I got the Classic IM yesterday, but while the articulation is underpar imo, I really like the sculpt.

I said articulation is underpar but I think the knee and chest joint are pretty good. I wish his neckjoint was better and he had double jointed elbows too though.

Still loving it, the extra blastoff piece is great imo.

Ya the Mark II was the very first one i bought from this line. And the silver paint is amazing!!! I like the new line better than the old one. Even though these are 3 inches smaller.
The new line looks like a man in a suit. The old one didn't, it looked a lil too skinny. But that's just my opinion. :)

Love them, although you really do need to dig through some of them to find decent paint jobs.

I FINALLY found comic War Machine yesterday (oddly no original IM or Crimson Dynamo) and he is fantastic. I mean wow, the quality of this figure was very surprising. Detail and paint are both great, love the retractable weapons. Very impressed with him. Hope there is more of this to come.

The other War Machine at the store didn't have any huge problems but but this was just looked that much better. It defiantly pays off to dig a little and compare.

I totally agree about the Mk.VI paint, of the three there wasn't one that was worth buying. Even one of the WMs had a huge scratch in his forehead, so keep an eye open when you're picking yours up folks.

I saw another 3-pack in TRU today. But they aren't 3 3/4", they look around 6" I think. Can't remembered what they were called but they looked pretty cool. They were all environment themed. There was a desert one, a water one, and a space one. But I didn't pick them up because I'm really only interested in the smaller figures, which are more in scale with Transformers.

You guys that would be sooo awesome!! Me and my buddy were saying they should make a Tony Starks figure with a briefcase that can partially transform (whether it's a full transformation or even detachable parts that could be put together as a briefcase and the Mark 5 suit) and then be put over the Starks figure. If your referring to the comparison UltraPrimal and Prowl_2009 made in the recent threads? then in their defence, if they don't mind, i think they are aware of the fact that Hasbro/Takara share the designs. UltraPrimal did mentioned "if Takara were doing the IM2 figs". And i think Prowl was just going along simply stating that again "if" Takara were doing the IM2 line that they would as usual out stage Hasbro. Whether it's through better paint apps, better gimmicks...etc.

As Prime mentioned, I know Hasbro and Takara jointly design the products shared between them, but all I meant from my above statement is that Takara makes the superior product when it comes to overall apperance. Where Hasbro's versions of certain TF's will feature plastic weapons and slightly off-coloured paint (in most cases), Takara classes up their figures with more accurate paint, clear, over opaque windows, and chrome weapons and parts for both robot and alt mode. So whether or not Hasbro and Takara design and share products between them, the fact remains that Takara outshines Hasbro most of the time.

Lol, it isn't that bad , its about a hour each way. I went that time because Wal mart Canada told me that they would not be available in Quebec. Newmarket Wal-Mart finally got the 6" IM2 figures! About 7 each of the Mark V (minus 1 since I grabbed one for myself :) ) and the Mark VI!!! :D

While Newmarket Wal-Mart seems to be keeping up-to-date with all the Iron Man 2 figures, be they 3 & 3/4" or 6", the Bradford Wal-Mart is still suffering from a severe IM2 drought. Yesterday, I asked two of the stock boys in the toy isle if they had any of the 6" War Machine and they both said as far as they know, Hasbro was only releasing the smaller 3 & 3/4" toys for IM2 and that there were no plans to release a 6" line......

I haven't been impressed at all with the IM figures. Most just look terrible with horrible paint. However, I picked up 3.75" Mark V and WM, and I have to say, while the Mark V doesn't change my opinion any, WM is top notch. Probably the best 3.75" Marvel figure put out by Hasbro.

The suitcase armor is nice, but he has limited shoulder movement for no apparent reason. I don't know why they molded it like that, but his his arm can only lift sideways a few degrees. Nothing too terrible, but it's just odd they did that. Also, his head doesn't move up or down at all, just side to side. Again, another curious choice, considering his head looks like it's always looking slightly up.

Paint apps is still a problem. Had to shift through half a dozen Mark V's and took the better of two WMs. Overall though, I am happy with both figures. I just wish I liked IM more, haha.

Tell me about it, when I finally tracked down some of the 6" IM2 figures, I had to shift through at least eighteen or so figures just to find a Mark V with 'tolerable' paint apps. :rolleyes: I mean, the paint looked good and all, especially in comparison to the others that were in the store at the time, but Hasbro really needs to work on their quality control on toy lines like this in a similar way that they do with their Star Wars and Transformers lines.

I feel like the IM line is just a sideshow for Hasbro, the way Wolverine Origins was. It appears their main focus is with MU, and that IM2 is just a quick way to make some money, considering given another couple weeks, the movie will drop off the radar and the stores will be sitting on a huge stock of badly painted toys the way they sat on poorly done WO figures. I still have yet to find a Mark VI that is resembling anything decent in terms of paint. I am waiting for these toys to hit clearance before I pick up any more.

I just got the Hall of Armor figures from Target and they all have something wrong with them. The Mark VI has a big dot o paint on the helmet. The Mark IV has stress marks on his neck. And War Machine is missing one of his shoulder pads. He's also missing one of his shoulder weapons but I think he's supposed to. They cut out all the spring-loaded weapons in favour of the light-up base. Very disappointing. Looks like I'll have to hunt down a regular WM just to get a shoulder pad.:rolleyes: And another Mark VI and see if there's a way to pop the heads off and swap them.:(

Hopefully if/when I get the K-Mart exclusive with the Captain America Ironman it won't have the same QC problems.

I think its the color app on the thigh portion.
In the movie, the thigh of mark vi is almost all gold in color, without much red. the regular 3.75" mark vi has the red colored in where the gold is supposed to be. this was corrected in that hall of armor mark vi.
