Marvel Legends Infinite Series Guardians of the Galaxy Released in Canada

Thanks to sightings made by various members, we now know that the Marvel Legends Infinite Series Guardians of the Galaxy has been released in Canada. The Groot build-a-figure wave consists of Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket Raccoon, Nova, and Iron Man.

The figures have been found at Toys "R" Us in Alberta and Ontario. Thanks for the photo thunderboy!

These are TRU Canada exclusives and that's why we haven't seen them at other retailers at least that's what it says on their website - "R" EXCLUSIVE above the figure picture. That kinda sucks because they were everywhere in the U.S. when I went there a couple of weeks ago.

That's what my dealer said too, though they didn't start as TRU exclusive. He ordered a case for me, and then the day after he got the case they went to TRU exclusive. Maybe no one was ordering them so HasCan gave TRU a deal to take them all as an exclusive.

Iron Man joined the Guardians for at least one comic story arc. I'm not sure if he's a card carrying member currently, lol. Nova makes a little more sense to have in the set. I figured that we would be seeing more movie characters, but I support this and will probably buy. The only part standing in my way is the TRU exclusive thing. That'll make them hard to come by, and jack up the price (as opposed to if they were at Walmart).

I would have been happier with a straight repack of the BAF Ronan figure :) Or a new comic version. Or even a movie version. But I'd take a movie Nebula over a movie Ronan. Maybe in a future wave.

You're not alone on the "over priced" feeling. But I believe they are TRU exclusive (at least in Canada), and there seems to be demand for them, so I think people are snatching them up despite the price. I'm not sure I'll cave in and get the set for that price, but I'll be picking up a few.

Hopefully it won't be too hard to find a set. I definitely want to build a Groot. A little annoying that Drax's pants looks to be the wrong color. Everyone's outfit is before the final battle except his.

Haha, the only reason there's a demand is because they're the only ones releasing them. Well, the movie's success probably helped too.

I ordered all my Guardians ML Figures from Amazon.com a couple months ago. They were 20 USD each + shipping, so they ended up costing a bit more than TRU Canada, but not much more. So there's an alternative if you don't want to go on a hunt.

While these movie versions are nice and I'd like to buy them, I just don't see the need for these in my collection when Hasbro will be releasing a box set including Groot in comic uni's either later this year or early next.

This had been mentioned in an interview either at SDCC or somewhere, but it was recent. Also, Amazon.com has this wave on sale every other day, so keep an eye out boys and girls...

You can google "sdcc marvel legends 2014 news". It was revealed that GOTG will get a comic only box set next year, not this year. I'd reckon they would do a second wave first before releasing the box set, solely based on the panel's insistence that Nova figure is their best selling figure yet on Amazon.

There’s nothing set in stone for that series just yet, but Hasbro did announce a comic style Guardians five-pack, set for release in 2015, likely as an exclusive. The set will feature Star Lord, Gamora, Rocket, Groot and Drax. Unconfirmed word after the panel suggests the figures will look like this, design-wise:

Star Lord – Repack from the SDCC Thanos Imperative box set, with a new deco (white trim?)
Rocket – Mini BAF with a new head sculpt and a bigger weapon
Groot – Movie BAF with new comic style head
Drax – Built on the Sentry body… but we’re not clear if he’ll be a redo of the Annihilation look, or the classic purple togs
Gamora – Built on the Moonstone body with painted costume details, so I’m guessing her modern warrior look with the big hood and cape, and broadsword
Sweet, I'm guessing this'll probably be Toys "R" Us exclusive like the X-Men one? Groot sounds lazy, just a new head? Looking forward to the Gamora, awesome if it really is this design (haha, though I somehow doubt it):

Once you received your figures, bring your sales slip to the store and the credit card you used for purchase (just in case bring the figures). They will normally do the price adjustment, if not, return it and repurchase them at the discounted price.

Got my set in-hand from TRU except Rocket Racoon because they shipped him out a day later. I have to go pick him up tomorrow.

I love this set. I wish they would of packed someone other than Iron Man (Nebula) but looking at him he is not that bad. He will be the peg warmer no doubt. I will post pictures as soon as I get my Rocket!
