Was bored, so thought I'd pick up some Thor figures. Think I'm gonna wait for a sale before buying a Loki and sleeveless Thor. And man, is there a lot of slop in the paint apps. I had to go through all the Thors and Odins on the pegs before finding ones that were satisfactory. Whoever was doing QC really dropped the ball.

I noticed the same thing when i was looking through them. Only 1 out of the 3 frost giants on the pegs had a half way decent paint app. very disapointed. Will be picking up Odin and a Thor from a sale. I saw Loki and he look a lot like Sokka from the last air bender toy line. Not impressed by him at all.

I agree. I finally caved and bought Carter and Kat and now will be playing catch up for wave 1.I also found Carter and Kat and the Grunt Minor.

In fact, since I've been absent from here for so long, 'recently' I've gotten:

Halo Reach Carter, Kat, and Grunt Minor. SW CW Waxer/Geonosian Battle Droid pack. Generations Wheeljack and Dirge. Revoltech Gurren and lagann. Also a ton of those little Megabloks Halo figures. Not the sets, just the figurines. They are so figgin' addictive. They're all nicely sculpted, painted, damn good articulation for such tiny toys, and they all come with weapons.

I've also started collecting Braves. I have the Sonokong DX Mic Sounders, Gekiryujin, Goldymarg and GaoGaiGar from, well, GaoGaigar.

Finally found a Spider-Woman. Indy figures were super cheap, nazi soldier was $2 and the nazi motorcycle guy was $3. Haha, and NECA's Sam Fisher doesn't really look like himself. I think one could probably pull off a Nathan Drake custom with him if they wanted to.

I agree with you that Dollar Stores have raised their prices for crappier products, in some cases that is. But these figures are still selling at TRU for like 10 bucks more so i'm still stoked. :) That's what annoys me about these large corporations, even though a product isn't selling they will still try to make as much profit as possible.

That dirge is not a bad figure. But it has next to no posibility. The good one is the one that comes with the speeder bike. Fantastic figure. Still that Dirge looks better than the one I have.

Picked up MU Apocalypse, Cable and Jim Lee's Cyclops from Conspiracy comics in Burlington...15.99 each is not bad.
Cable is sooo cool, I don't like the fetus on his chest but that is removable, super poseable and great acc's. The new Cyclops is the best version of him that I have ever see, so articulated and hidden joints to boot. Apocalypses is awesome....just that the cables on his arms hamper his articulation a bit otherwise he is awesomsauce. Hasbro keeps getting better with every wave of these Marvel Universe figures. I have 1st appearance wolverine on hold and decide not to get Gladiator....terrible paint apps on him for both figures that was there. still 1 wolverine and 1 apocalypses, 2 gladiators left.

I headed to Sears in Burlington today and picked up the Silver Samurai/ Wolverine 2 pack and Taskmaster/Deadpool 2 pack....I opened them up in the parking lot to check them out to make sure they are ok, glad I did because Taskmaster had a busted right arm out to the package. I traded it in for the only one they had left...lucky me. there were 2 Silver Samurai packs left.

Taskmaster is one of my favourite characters in Marvel comics today...wish it was the costume from the miniseries that came out a few years ago( also in the deadpool series) the figure is awesome totally worth the 19.99+ tax, the deadpool figure sucks, lol....loose as hell and feels like cheap shitty plastic like the wolverine movie comics series figure. The Silver Samurai figures is one of the best looking figures that I have seen in a very long time. I believe that he is completely new sculpt with great articulation and paint apps, his swords are meh... still worth the price for him alone. The wolverine has a crappy head sculpt and the body is the same as the wolvering movie "comic" figuers but painted black he has individual claws (FINALLY!!!)

One on the left is called Garo, from a show called Garo, and the one on the right is one of the many forms that the protagonist takes in a show called Kamen Rider OOO.

after staring at this 2 pack at my walmart for a month, I finally caved and got the Mu Sentry/Spidey 2 pack.

The Spidey is a POS, the legs come off so easily. Immediately thrown into the "extra" bin

Really? I bought that pack the first time I saw it. The Spidey is the same, his right leg pops off easily. But if your wanting a Spidey in classic colours based on the Black Spider-man mold it'll be in the FA Captain Britain pack too.

They have the new Captain America "comic series" figures at the TRU oakville. I picked up Ultimate Cap and Winter Soldier...I had to search through 10 of each figure to find one that didn't look like crap. What is it with " movie" figures that applying paint with no care whatsoever is acceptable? I couldn't find a decent looking regular Captain America ( the one with the missile launcher so forget him for now. I noticed a difference with the regular "ultimate Calp" and the "deluxe" Ultimate Cap (the one with the body armor ) the regular UC had an elbow swivel and no wrist articulation and the "deluxe" version with the body armor has wrist articulation but no elbow swivel and he is 3 bucks more??? Why can't we have both like in MU figures?

Winter Soldier is far superior to the MU version of Winter Soldier in every way possible....I have the variant of the WS with the long hair...he is going in my MU storage box.
Ultimate Cap too is better than the MU version, he is bulkier and more imposing as Cap should be. He looks like a super soldier. I hate the shield that he comes with, I am using the MU Ultimate Caps shield, Looks FN awesome.

Picked up Loose Mekaneck, in good condition. His left arm was completely broken off when I opened the box, which the seller didn't say in the ad. I let him know what had happened, but he didn't do anything. I used contact cement to fix the arm, so it's all good. :D

They were at the one Wal-Mart i went to while looking for the TFs on clearance, but they other two walmarts that i went to in town had them still at full price. Made no sense to me but i wasnt going to let that stop me. Funny thing is that they still have IM2 figures at full price. If they needed room why not clearance those?

Went to the Farmer's Market today. First one of the year and it didn't dissapoint! Loved getting Spikor for $4!! The Gobots were only $3 each and they had a pile more. Will have to go next week as well. The Joes were $5.

Grabbed the Target / Zellers Exclusive Star Wars Heroes and Villians 3-pack this past Thursday and they're so awesome! I am so happy to finally have a 2004 VOTC Han Solo in my Star Wars Collection! :D

And, thanks to Blockbusters 30% off closing sale, I grabbed The Green Hornet on Blu-Ray this past Friday for $14 brand new, marked down from $30! :D

Thanks and yeah got the comics for $3 each. I've been a fan or Sgt Fury and Capt Savage since forever lol. Went to the market again this weekend but due to a cold rainy day, the 2 vendors weren't there. Hopefully they're back this weekend so I can get more Gobots and they had a 12" Adenture Team Joe for $25.

Captain America: The First Avenger (Wave One) - Winter Soldier

Overall, a great figure and rendition of the character, plus he looks right at home with G.I. Joe figures. Plus he's miles ahead of the Marvel Universe version.
