I am looking forward to this. The toy, not the price that is. Do I even want to know?

It looks like the fighter only has half-the wings inside the box?

The outer wings are removable.
It looks like a very nice set, but not $90 nice.

Now this is the sort of thing I expect people to be unenthusiastic about and I fully empathize. No matter how nice a toy this is, and it does appear to be quite nice, the price tag is a total deal breaker. It doesn't help that this mold has been available a couple of times previously, if I recall correctly, and at considerably smaller costs.

Personally, the X-wing is not one of my favorite ships. I generally don't get too excited about starship toys, anyway. No matter how much I may love a particular ship (such as the OT Y-wing), I am far too old to get away with running around the yard, 'flying' my starfighter. So, the majority of the play value of these ships is lost even before I hit the register. Of course, a landed starship really isn't a lot of fun, either.

That's a whole lot of reasons that make this one an easy pass for me.

The packaging on these is ridiculous as well, I imagine the large size of the box has something to do with the higher price point. The TRU Red One X-Wing is in a box probably only a third the size of the Wedge one. I'd rather it was in a smaller box and cost $15 less.
There is no need for a diorama with these things. It looks pretty, but for most collectors it is probably unnecessary. The Dagobah one was the same way.
