Thanks to AFN member jacobot for letting us know that Avatar toys for the upcoming James Cameron movie have been released at Canadian retail. Sighted at Zellers the Avatar action figures are $11.99 with the Mech suits and ship sets ringing in at $29.99.

They look weird so I don't think I'm interested at all in getting these...

Some of the vehicles look promising. I saw the figures, and all I really want is the guy in the wheelchair. Just so I have a wheelchair for customizing later.

Which poor Joe is going to take a bullet.....

That wheelchair might be nice for a Prof X custom. These toys look decent, but I can't afford another line. Maybe the movie might change my mind (though I suspect after so many years of anticipation, it won't live up to the hype.)

I saw a bunch of them at zellers in waterdown. 11.99 for a figure smaller than marvel universe figures, there were little to no accs in the package either. wasnt to impressed with the sculpts, looked like really cheap plastic too. they only had the blue alien characters, meh.

I'm torn on these. The vehicles and creatures look very nice in the pictures I've seen so far, although I've yet to see them in person. What concerns me is how much interest I'll have in these toys and the staying power of that interest.

I bought a T-100 from the Terminator: Salvation line back in the summer. I had no interest in the line as a whole, the T-100s, sole purpose was to mingle amongst the joes and other brands of action figure, just as any Avatar toys I get would do. This lasted for a little while.

These days, I have no idea where it's gone too and really have no interest in looking for it. I don't feel bad about buying it. It was only ten bucks, money that would be long gone by now no matter what, and doubtlessly on something equally non-essential.

These Avatar toys are a good deal more expensive than the T-100 was, so obviously I don't want to splurge on them only to have the same situation play out.

Wait till there on Clearance, I'm pretty sure they will be in about 6 months. I saw these in person and I'm not too impressed, the packaging is nice but that's about it really. The wheelchair looks pretty bad, very plain looking. Oh and they are $12.99 @ TRU... ouch!

On a side note the Salvation 3.5" figs are on clearance for $2.00 @ Hwy7/27 Walmart. I built up a nice army of T-100's :)

I like the look of these figures as i have seen them in SuperStore for awhile now. The price on these is kinda painfull though, so gonna wait until they go on clearance (and they will). How fast they do and for how much really depends on how well the movie does i guess.
