So..I picked up Commander Stone from the new wave, and while I like the way it looks alot, I find myself dissapointed by it.

compared to the old clonetrooper body, the new body looks more..fit and built overall, mainly due to its broader shoulders. Looks very accurate to its on screen counter part. Oh and it has a new face mold.

its articulation is where it dissapointed me alot.
no more ball joint in the chest, but the waist rotates.
no more swivel joint at the wrist that allowed the hand to be able to move up and down/left right, it can now only rotate. the legs for the most part is the same...but no ankle joint...wtf hasbro?

I mentioned that i really like the way it looks because it does look great when its posed standing up right...but really, its the only thing it CAN do because of those missing ankle joints..and the legs are pretty close together you cant pull off a decent action pose without it falling over.

imo hasbro took one big step forward with the more screen accurate sculpt job, but took two steps back by taking away its ankle articulation, which bugged me alot more than I thought it would

what do you guys think about the figure?

What was wrong with my thread on the new Clone body?

Anyway, like I said there, I'm very impressed with the sculpt, but I'm not happy about the ankles either. I don't think I'll be disapointed, because I know going in what to expect. The body and wrist joints I can live without. They still swivel. And even though he has no ankles for crounched stances, he still has just about everything else, incuding the arm articulation, so he's still a fun toy to play with. (which is what hasbro has said the CW line is for)

To sum up how I feel, like the rest of you:

Sculpt is very good.

Articulation is another story.

The articulation is very good.

Just not as good as before.

Wonder why they decided to change it. I know Hasbro mentioned something in their Q&A with Rebelscum.com, but I can't seem to recall what the reasoning was.

Wonder why they decided to change it. I know Hasbro mentioned something in their Q&A with Rebelscum.com, but I can't seem to recall what the reasoning was.It takes a lot of money to tool an articulated clone, and because most clones in TCW are individuals it was getting too expensive. They also mentioned that this is NOT going to completely replace the old body.

That's right, I remember now.

Thanks! :)
