Thanks to AFN member jacobot for letting us know that the cost of G.I. Joe figures were increased in Walmarts across Canada from $7.98 to $8.98 per figure.

Eko123 reports that the trooper builder sets (such as Firefly/Greenshirts & the Crimson Guard pack) have been increased to $21.99 at Toys R Us. They were originally $19.99 when they were released before Christmas.

Whats up with Wal-Mart anyway? I just heard that wal-mart in the states have rise again their prices on transformers deluxe figures and now this. Its a shame also for Toys R Us to follow Wal-mart on this rise trend, hope others stores will not do the same.
This is not a good way to help the bad economy by scaring away potentials byers.

So TRU is raising prices on GI Joes? My TRU has tonnes of old wave stock still around. It's been like that for weeks. How is raising those prices going to move that old stock? Whatever. I'm pretty much done with Joes for now.

Ain't that the truth! :(

I've been waiting for ages to see if Wal-Mart, Toys 'R Us or Zellers will get the newer vehicles. Unfortunately, it looks like it'll continue to remain nothing but HISS tanks and Steeler vs. Serpentor 2-packs for the time being.

And I agree with pud333...how is increasing the price of Joe toys going to get rid of the old stock? It's ridiculous.

Also...on a related note, I think some of the Toys 'R Us stores (especially some of the ones in Toronto) seriously need to find a way to clear stock on other toy lines that have been gathering dust on the pegs for quite some time.

I'm talking about stuff like the "Golden Compass" and "Prince Caspian" movie figures that no one seems to touch (no offense to anyone who collects those lines).
