Post your pictures, links and talk about Kaiyodo's Revoltech line.

I only have Gurren Lagann right now, still need to do a photo shoot for it. Looking for the Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann version and sometime this year they are releasing the other versions of Gurren Lagann including just Gurren. Can't wait.

I only have Gurren-Lagann, Lazengann and Fraulein Yoko. I wanted Enki to complete the flight pack but it seems to have disappeared from existence... I hope they rerelease it sometime.

Repost from old pic thread on Cybertron.ca:)

@Icetron: How do you like Yoko?

Not that much actually. Compared to the MMS version she has better proportions but I'm just not a fan of Fraulein's sculpt > articulation. It makes her limited. The stand doesn't really work that well either, but she can stand okayish without it. What I do like about her is how she looks more rounded compared to the MMS version. I'll try to get some shots up by tomorrow.

The sad thing is that I'm going to buy Yoko again when the new version comes out, I'm a huge Yoko fan and none of the PVCs have appealed to me so far.

What is MMS?

Icetron

Part of Konami's action figure line, a large part of it consists of Busou Shinkis which are female action figures with lots of armor parts (lots of variability in how to equip it too).

They made a Yoko with similar joints and stuff. :) http://www.hlj.com/product/KNM13490

Ah don't worry about it man, I made some impulsive purchases lately so I don't think I should get that Enki for now. :o

It's unfortunate that the Yamaguchi line (the main line) for Revoltech went on haietus. I really enjoyed the monthly releases from them. The sculpts were just amazing.

Still, the new reboot line should be happening in a couple months. I'm curious to see what that will be like.

Personally, I would really enjoy some more TF Revoltechs.

Awesome. Can't wait.

I was at Soul of Anime today and they had those Street Fighter figures and I have to say that it was lucky my girlfriend pulled me away at the last moment, cause I was about to buy the whole lot. I didn't think much of them when they first came out, but in person, it was a completely different story.

I don't want to see those SF ones then. :p I originally wanted a few but then saw how tiny they were and kind of lost interest.

Yeah, they're small, pretty much on par with the TF ones in terms of size. But they're very cool. Which is why I am forcing myself to stay away from that store until I have more money.

Got this one friday night.

You have to check out the hi res version HERE (http://flickr.com/photos/codeofhonor/3261705975/sizes/o/)

It brought up a question, what do you do with all the accessories, heads and hands that they come with? I just keep them in the box's for now, until I can come up with something better.

Icetron
02-08-2009, 02:28 AM
You could buy some tougher ziplock bags that are like the figma ones and try that. :)

Someone on 4chan uses a 3-drawer cabinet for accessories. I'm planning to get one too for my figma stuff so I don't have to go open the boxes each time I want to swap a part. The guy uses a Sterilite one from Wal-Mart but it's 8.5" x 11" and costs about $20. I think London Drugs sells something similar for $10, I've yet to check there though.

Yeah, they're small, pretty much on par with the TF ones in terms of size. But they're very cool. Which is why I am forcing myself to stay away from that store until I have more money.

Ahhh I'm not sure why I had the feeling they were smaller than the TF ones. Too bad I just bought UM or I wouldn't mind getting a Guile one, looks cool. :D

Now that I look at the TF ones, you're probably right. Somewhere between GI Joe size and the TF revs.

I find I don't have room to keep the open boxes, so I just bought one of these Jars from a kitchen wares store. It's big enough so I can comfortably fit my whole hand inside and pull out a fistful of bits, but small enough so that it fits nicely on the bookshelf. I've sold off a lot of my Revoltech collection, but I still have a bunch of figures, so you can see the jar holds quite a bit.

I found the smaller version of the drawers yesterday. :) They were on sale too, $10 for 2.

The one I got was 2073 and it looks pretty useful for my figma/Revoltech parts, and I can put other accessories in there as well.

Enki looks a weird in the group pic, guess his hands aren't really designed for that but it looks okay from this angle imo.

That Saber looks sweet. Too bad I know nothing about the anime. Is it any good? I've been looking for a new anime to get into, but I find most anime to be really convoluted or full of pseudo-pedo sexual tension which is honestly just creepy . For example, I liked Gurren Lagann, but Evangelion just got too creepy for me, ya know?

Icetron
03-10-2009, 06:10 PM
Unfortunately Fate/stay night is one of 'those' games turned into an anime, but other than a few parts I don't think you could tell unless someone told you. The show is pretty good and not just full of fighting, I liked it a lot and I especially liked the character designs. The story follows one branch of the game's story, I forgot which one but overall the plot and characters are pretty good. I'd recommend checking it out if you're interested. :)

Oh and there actually is a little girl in the series but her role in the plot is pretty neat. ;)

I don't know about the anime either, never was an anime person.:o

Just wondering, is Saber and Saber Alter the same person or two separate people?

Icetron
03-11-2009, 01:30 AM
I believe that Saber Alter 'is' Saber, but in a different story arc she is an 'evil' servant instead of her usual good self. I really could be wrong though since I never played through the second game (Fate/hollow ataraxia, sp.?), since Saber Alter wasn't in the original game if I recall correctly.

Emptied out a row on my book shelf, so I filled it up with my Revoltechs. How do you guys display your Revoltechs?

I don't keep the boxes anymore. I just didn't have the room. Unfortunately right now, they're sort of crammed up at the very top of the bookshelf, gathering dust along with my movie TFs. :( They're such great toys though, seriously, and I am looking forward to the original line coming back at some point.

JTCh
03-31-2009, 01:28 AM
I really like the box art, so I can't bring myself to dispose of them. Another reason is because only 3/8 is out of the box at the moment, haven't open the others yet. I need some more display room before I open more toys.:p

pud333
03-31-2009, 12:15 PM
Yeah, the boxes are cool. I particularly like the later ones where the box art is the same, but the box itself was slimmer and compact. Very cool. The Japanese sure know how to package a toy!

I sold a bunch of my revoltech last year (the Evangelion and Gurren Lagann figures, as well as some MISB doubles) and I'm sort of regretting it now whenever I see you post a Revoltech haul, haha. :o This morning I dusted off my TF Revoltechs. I forgot just how gorgeous the paint job on Ultramagnus was. Pearl white with a bit of shine to it. Good stuff. I think he's still my favorite, despite the limited range of motion compared to the later Revoltechs. What I love about these figures is that you can pull off poses and make it look exactly like the anime.

pud333
07-03-2009, 04:42 PM
Anyone have any thoughts on the return of the old Revoltech line? I know a bunch of Evangelion figures were released, but man, how many of these figures can they make? I mean they're cool figures, but the Japanese obsession with Evangelion seems a bit unhealthy, IMO :p

Still hoping for some new TF Revoltechs soon.

Icetron
07-03-2009, 10:56 PM
One of the new sublines for Revoltech is the Queen's Blade figures. Aside from some 'extra' accessories, the articulation looks better than Frauleins and they're a bit closer to scale with figmas, which I welcome. I just haven't found any characters I think are worth getting yet, and I might not even end up getting any.

I'm also interested in seeing more of the new Gurren-Lagann stuff, but not sure if I will even buy any. (I'm not even sure if I want to hold onto the GL+Lazen+Enki trio anymore)

Now that the main Revoltech line has been back up and running, I'm interested in the toys again. I've got the ARX-7 Arbalest coming in the mail. Just shipped today!

Also preordered these transforming Valkyries. I was skeptical at first, but I love how these things look.

pud333
12-19-2009, 02:04 PM
I preordered both. I figure I can have one fully transformed, and the other in gerwalk mode. The great part is that it's a perfect transformation, and not a parts former. I think only the cockpit shield comes off and can be replaced with the skull and crossbones.

I only wish it came with the strike parts. There's no reason why they couldn't offer that and add a buck or two to the overall price if price was an issue.

Revoltech ARX-8 Laevatein. That gun is just ridiculous in a good way. I love these clear stands. Makes for better use on flying poses.

http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k176/politik1/P1050088.jpg

I like that Revoltech figures now come with this plastic box to store extra parts in. I only wish it were a bit bigger to accommodate some of the bigger pieces.

Just got confirmation that my transforming Valks are on their way from HLJ! Awesome!

Here's a picture from a review site (http://taste.image.coocan.jp/hobby100101.htm). Looks like they're bigger than the non transforming ones. So impressed that Kaiyodo managed to do this with very little parts forming. I only wish it came with fastpacks...
