Hey Guys,

A friend of mine got me thinking of collecting FIGMA figures but I am very skeptical as I know it would cost a lot..

I was wondering if there are any store in Toronto/Markham area that carries FIGMA figures so I can take a look at them. It would also help to know how much they usually go for.

THanks!!

I don't know about Toronto, but Figmas are sold in Vancouver only at specialty toy and anime stores, and they can run up around $50 - $60 each sometimes. Sometimes even more. Personally, I don't think it is worth it to buy in stores, since you are paying for their cost + shipping + insane markup. I would just order them directly online.

Amiami is the best IMO, since they have the biggest discounts, at around 20% off usually. HLJ is also very good. Figmas vary in price, ranging froum around 2000 yen and up when you order from places like Amiami or HLJ. When you're looking at imported toys, it'll always cost more than collecting stuff from Hasbro or Mattel. The quality is definitely there for Figmas. They're just very fragile sometimes.

Comic shops carry figmas don't they? I know a store on Spadina called AnimeXtreme definately has some as well as Pacific Mall (that's a journey even for me and I'm in scarborough). Price will vary some places, they always end up a tad pricey when buying in-store retail. You can also try checking out Aura at Yonge & Dundas square at the AMC building, top floor. These places are more plentiful with model kits but they also carry other general Japanese imported stuff.
