Hey, everyone. Bee na huge fan of Revoltech, but only managed to secure myself six figures.

Two Transformers: Megatron and Rodimus

A white macross non transforming figure
The Predator
Two Fraulains E.L.F.: Ayanami and Makinami Mari Illustrious

All store bought. So my question is what is a good site to order revoltechs from? Im trying to avoid using ebay. And which ones I should try to get.

Some that I plan on getting are the Alien, Iron man, War Machine, some awesome looking blue guy a member posted in the photo thread, Optimus Prime and Movie OP.

Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

Revoltech are awesome.

I always order from Amiami's english site. http://www.amiami.jp/shop?set=english

This is, IMO, best place to order import toys from. When you preorder, you can get good discounts. For example, the Optimus Prime is 20% off. Shipping the slow SAL method usually costs approximately $10 per revoltech figure. The faster EMS method with tracking usually costs about $15.

Another site is HLJ.com. If Amiami is old out, I go there. You get discounts there as well, but not as good in general. You don't need any other sites than those two, really. Just don't cancel too many preorders, as they don't tend to like that much.

If you like female figures, check out the Figma brand. Figma Mari is vastly superior, IMO, to the Revoltech ones. Figma is also branching out into the North American sci-fi market starting with amazing looking Robocop.

Awesome man thanks. Ive always been hoping that I could get most in stores, but they are really hard to come by unless you know where to look.

Like, in vancouver I know of Metropolis, and thats where I found the Predator. But I dont go to vancouver often.

But thanks for the info.

In Vancouver, there aren't many places. In Richmond there are a bunch of asian import stores, like at Aberdeen Centre (has a couple) and Richmond Centre used to have Soul of Anime (Not sure if it's still there. Haven't been there in a while). You can find Revoltechs at those places. Just be careful; sometimes the figures have been opened and displayed and then put back in the box and they attempt to sell it as brand new. I bought a figma I thought was new one time and it turned out to be a) used, and b) broken.

In Vancouver, you could also try Crystal Mall near Metrotown. Lots of hobby stores there, though I admit I never really found anything worthwhile...

Hmmm, Im not in Vancouver all that much to go to these places. But good to know anyway, hows Urban Samurai for revoltechs or asian imports?

Urban Samurai has lots of imported robots like Transformer Alternity's and Takara versions, as well as some third party stuff, but not so much Revoltechs. They had a few last I checked (about almost a year ago), but I don't know what their situation is now. Next time I'm in that area, if I see any I'll let you know. Everything there tends to be expensive though - like any import store.

I just checked Urban Samurai yesterday. No revoltechs except the Macross transforming valkyries, Hot Rod, and Ultra Magnus (selling around $39.99 I think). They had lots of Takara stuff. TFs and Gundam is what they mostly do. I saw MP-10 Prime there. Man, he looked awesome. Now I have to order that...

Thanks. Collection is even bigger now! haha. :clapping: Anyway, Amiami rules. They're f'ing awesome. I have War Machine on order as well. I probably wont' get him though until beginning of November, since he is in a large order with other preorders that Amiami is holding for me.

The thing I like about Amiami is they will hold your order for the month and wait for everything that's coming out that month to be in stock before they ship. This saves a lot of shipping so I just use EMS with them.

I don't think HLJ has this service, if they did, I would order from them much more.

pud333

HLJ does have a loot service. They actually have the option to send as soon as items come in, or to wait until whole order is in, but my problem with them is that 1) sometimes this doesn't work. I've had it on several occassions they'll ship something even though the rest hasn't come in. 2) It's way easier to combine with Amiami. Just put in the order ID # with the orders you want to combine, and it's done. The best loot service is still BBTS, IMO.

HLJ forced me to ship a small item separately even though I had another item that month. Don't know why but I still paid, that figure was hard to find at the time. I just found it weird but I wasn't alone. The item was the Figuarts Ankh hand set.

If you get a better deal than the website, why not? So long as he has lots of good feedback, you should be fine. also, Paypal protects the buyer from non shipment so long as you open your claim in time.

This is what lends me to believe their loot system isn't as effective. It happens though. Which is why I prefer to deal with amiami. Their customers service is great and they respond very quickly. I had my September loot just about to go out and I emailed them to add one more in stock item and they obliged at the last minute, saving me a few bucks on shipping. Good stuff.

Hi! I read your message and I am also very interested in these two online stores. What I would like to ask is that what kinds of and usually how much extra payments you should pay (such as the duties, GST, HST, PST and other related fees) for these figures? I'm also living in BC but just two months and not quite familiar with the related fees of international transactions. Thank you : )

And do you have any revoltech figures to sell?

1) You won't be taxed at source (when you buy/pay), but you may be caught with duties, which are basically like paying typical BC Taxes on it. How often will you be charged? I don't know. It seems random as to how Customs charges people. In over two years of ordering overseas, I have only been hit with duties maybe three times. So it's not THAT often, but be prepared for it.

2) Not at this time, but I will keep you in mind if I ever do.

BTW pictures are up in the action figure shoots thread!

I was just hit with my first duties on an Amiami shipment. Customs got me on a $200 shipment. Yet they let my HLJ $700 shipment go through no problems. So strange. I have absolutely NO idea how customs picks which packages to charge duty on, and which to let through.

That sucks man, and wierd too. I dont get Customs either...wierd system. Anyway Pud do you recommend both aliens figures? Or is the Warrior the superior one? Thinking about gettinga second warrior alien.

pud333
11-05-2011, 03:04 AM
Warrior is superior in terms of articulation. However, Big Chap is the original Alien, and he's very cool in his own right. Not as playable as the warrior alien, but like I said: he's the original, and if you're a fan of the first film, you definitely want him.

Yeah, looks good. The skeleton is one of those Revoltechs I always mean to get whenever there is a sale, but for one reason or another, I get something else or something comes up that bumps that purchase back. It's one of those toys where I'll have to be walking into a local anime store and find it on the shelf at a discount and just pull the trigger cause I'm in a toy drought. Looks good with the other thing though.

Kind of dissappointed with Revoltech offerings the past few months. Nothing coming out that I really have to get besides the Iron Man Mark II.

I know what you mean. I check every so often because some of the sold out revoltechs I want. Nothing currently availible strikes me. The dragon statue is from Elder Scrolls V Skyrim, great game. Has skeletons as enemies which is why I thought those two went prefect with eachother.

I have three revoltechs on the way: the Mark II, Mr. Incredible, and Eva-04 Production model. I'll post here once I play with them. Probably won't get here until Friday or Monday.

Woah, been a while since I got anything besides Macross. I'm looking forward to it! :)

Sounds good. I got Play arts Kai Batman and Figma...umm Figma - Miku Hatsune Append. First one, looks really cool.

Also, starting watching queen's blade (and no not for fun bags that pop all over the place lol) but for the story, I started reading about it, and got interested. Anyway, now Im trying to get some the revoltechs, only got two of them, completely sold out at amiami and HLJ. Anyway, the ones I have are pretty cool. Alleyne (green ver.) is the best one I have, mainly because shes a staff wielder, weakness from double bladed lightsabers lol.

So I opened my Mark II and it's just okay. No where near as shiny as the photos. The Tony Stark head is just so-so. The light is super bright and kind of cool. I'm not a huge IM fan, so take my comments with a grain of salt. If you're a big IM fan, and you feel like you need all the armours, then by all means get it, but I'd pass if I could do it over again.

Mr. Incredible is ridiculously small. Like, GI Joe small. Not worth the money.

Really getting bored of Revoltechs lately. Seems like they're skimping.

Had noidea Mr. Incredible was already out, could you do a small review of him, Pudd?

Mini review coming up!

Despite what I said earlier, it really is a nice sculpt. I think it captures Mr. Incredible perfectly.

http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m616/pud333/photo2-56.jpg

He comes with the little robot thing, which has some moderately posable arms.

http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m616/pud333/photo1-56.jpg

The figure comes with an extra face, hands, and extra claws for the robot.

http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m616/pud333/photo3-47.jpg

Articulation is pretty good. Like any Revoltech, the joints are a bit finicky, but once you get used to them, you can have some nice superhero poses. (Stand included). There are revo joints for the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and chest. The head and neck are sculpted as one piece. It would have been nice to get an extra revoltech joint for the head.

http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m616/pud333/photo4-43.jpg

http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m616/pud333/photo2-57.jpg

The feet are tiny, so they're connected by a little tiny peg. I'm worried this is potentially an easy breaking point for the toy.

http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m616/pud333/photo5-40.jpg

Speaking of breaking, one of the arms came off right out of the box. Be careful when manipulating the arms, or else you'll have this happen to you:

http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m616/pud333/photo3-48.jpg

I can't tell if it was glued in or just pegged in. I assume glued in since the other legs joints don't seem to come off. So I'm just gonna crazy glue the joint back in.

My other problem is how small Mr. Incredible is. He harkens back to the original Revoltechs in terms of size.

http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m616/pud333/photo1-57.jpg

He's cool and all, but for $24-$25 + shipping, I would recommend waiting for a discount, unless you are really into him.

I didnt plan on getting Mk II. But reading what you had to say, not getting it now. In terms of SCi FI, yeah revoltech seems to be losing points from me. The skeleton was the last one I got sci fi wise, and nothing has sparked my interest.

However, as I mentioned before the Queens blade one are pretty cool, all are unigue and different. Unlike some of the scifi stuff.

If you are still looking for Queens blade, try Mandarake if you haven't already been. If you don't know, they're a cluster of Japanese stores that put up opened/displayed (and sometimes unopened) goods for sale, usually below what they retailed for, but not always. You'll probably need an online translator if you can't read Japanese. They're good. Just be careful about ordering. If you order from the same store, they will combine shipping, but if you order from multiple stores, even if it is in the same order, you will be hit with multiple shipping charges, since they are coming from different places. Also, sometimes they don't update their ads, so you might order something that is out of stock already. I recommend emailing them to ask if something is missing or broken.

Original Woody came with his pervert face and the binocular toy. New Woody doesn't, but comes with the alien. (Again, skimping out. What good is one alien? Should have offerred at least three). The Monsters Inc, orginal one had Sulley and Mike, with hardhats and a scary face for Sulley. This time I think no scary face, no hard hats, but you get Boo. Boo ain't worth it; try to find the original if you can.

This last Revoltech purchase left me empty feeling. I think I'm not going to bother until they have something I really want. I spent over $100 on 3 toys that was just okay, when I could have put that money towards getting a valkyrie or the MP Starscream next month. Grrr.

Thanks, I have the original versions, the main want was the new partners they were including and no perv face for woody is a definate pass at least until a mega sale. Quite honestly, there hasn't been any Rev's that caught my eye in a long while, just too bad the Monsterarts Godzilla figs are double the typical Revoltech prices or else I'd been going full hardcore on filling up on monsters.
