176 The Central Canada Comic Con(Formerly the Manitoba Comic Con) is going to take place October 30th-November 1st, 2009 at the Winnipeg Convention Center.

This is the fourth year of the event and it keeps getting bigger and better each year. This year the Central Canada Comic Con is going guest list is shaping up nicely.

Guests slated to appear this year are:
Adam West, Julie Newmar, Dirk Benedict, Peter Mayhew and Marv Wolfman. Guests will continue to be added as the convention approaches so stay tuned.:)

As usual the CCCC, or C4 as it will be known, is bringing back its popular features from previous years including:
The "Batmobile"(This years featured vehicle)
150 plus Dealer Tables
Video Room
Anime Room
Gaming Area
Costume Contest
Social
Wine & Cheese with the Stars
Celebrity Panels, Presentations and Question & Answer sessions.

As well there will be special attractions for children as well like face painting and balloon atists as well as pictures with Gremlins and Ewoks for a small fee.

Many of our costumed visitors would be more than happy to allow you to take pictures with them for free as well. All one needs to do is ask! Past years have included costumed guests from the Star Wars 501st Legion, including very exact versions of Storm Troopers and Boba Fett!

A weekend pass for the event is only $20 and will be available through Ticketmaster starting April 1st. Tickets will also be available at Collectors Stores throughout Winnipeg as well. Single day passes will be available as well.

The Weekend Pass includes admission to to all three days of the event, including the special preview night Oct.30th.

Event Times are:
Friday October 30th- 5pm-9pm(With purchase of weekend pass only)
Saturday October 31st- 9am-6pm
Sunday October 2nd- 9am-6pm.

There is also a pre-Con social on September 26, 9pm-2am. Tckets for that event will be $10.

We hope you can come out and join us this year for C4. A great time is always had by all. Past guest have included the likes of Lou Ferigno, John Delancie, Levar Burton, David Prowse, Jeremy Bulloch, Erica Durance, Richard Hatch and Justin Hartley.

Comic Con is holding a Garage Sale to raise funds for The Rainbow Society!
When: July 18th
Where: 188 St. Mary's Rd.
Time: 8am - 4pm
We still need more donations of stuff! The more stuff the better this sale will be!
If you need us to come and pick up stuff, call 832-4671 to set up a time.
Otherwise drop off location is 214 St. Mary's Rd.

We're in need of some enthusiastic volunteers for this year's con!
The Gig:
- Help us out in various areas at the con like info, registration, programming, greeting, attractions, artist alley, gaming, programming, and more!
- Volunteer shifts are 4 - 5 hours long, and you get a 15 min. break for each shift you work.
- If you're working during something you wanna see, just let us know, we can have others hold down the fort while you enjoy the con!
- Get points for each hour you work, which will make you eligble for awesome prizes!
- Each volunteer gets a free t-shirt, access to our hospitality room and a discounted pass to the con for the weekend!
- On Sunday morning we do the big volunteer appreciation, stay tuned for details on that!

C4 news:

Photo Ops with the Batmobile are going to be 100% Free of charge! Just bring your camera and someone to snap your picture!

A Street Fighter 4 Tournament is planned for the video gaming area with great prizes still to be announced!

Our 1st of two Video Rooms will be featuring the complete G1 Transformers Cartoon Series all convention long! All Transformers, all the time!

Special Offers for Kids!


We've got lots of special offers for kids attending the 2009 Central Canada Comic Con.
We're pleased to announce that all current members of Scouts Canada, Girl Guides of Canada, and Cadets under 15 years of age will get into the convention FREE if they attend in uniform and are accompanied by an adult!

Free Youth Passes have also been distributed to Big Brothers Big Sisters. Youth under 15 may get into the convention free when accompanied by an adult

Only a couple weeks to go!

DC and Marvel Artist Rodney Ramos has been added to the Artist Alley. He's worked on several big sereis over the years including Green Lantern and the Avengers.

Also the Mandalorian Mercs Costume Club will be invading C4. Watch out for the fully armored Mandalorian Warriors wandering around the Con.:)
