Hey all,

My name is Alex Ballingall. I'm a journalist at Maclean's Magazine, based in Toronto.

I'm working on a story about action figures that are based on real people like Barack Obama and Che Guevara and Mark Zuckerberg, rather than on superheroes. In February, DiD Corp. is releasing an extremely realistic Steve Jobs figurine too.

Does anyone here collect figures like this in particular? If so, I'd love to hear from you. My phone number is 416-764-1315. My email is alex.ballingall@macleans.rogers.com

Thanks so much!

Cheers,
A.

I just read about this figure. You should look at a website called sideshow freak

www.sideshowcollectors.com

I've seen some pretty obscure stuff, like a customized Albert Einstein

Sounds like a cool idea. If your looking at customizations the sky is the limit(have pics of a Barack Obama Jedi on here somewhere.)

As for mass produced stuff I think there is quite a few companies that have done some Canadian themed figures.

The same company has also done an Isaac Brock and Wilfred Laurier figure.

A friend of mine picked up a 12" Hitler figure at a toy show a couple years ago. The vendor had a bunch of 12" WWII figures.
