Re: Star Wars Black Series 6" Wave 2 Released in Canada

Series 2 found at the Walmart in Ancaster, Ontario.

NOTE: They only had one of each at this point. I had Boba Fett and Han Solo in hand, but Han had a severe case of wonky eyes and some black paint slop on his face, so I left him on the peg and got Boba.

Other than that, as of 7:30 pm tonight there was still Leia, Greedo and a visually impaired Han Solo lol

Having him in hand, I must say he is completely worth the hunt! The level of detail on him is awesome.

Those new Hasbro $10 off coupons which are on family-sized Kellogg's cereals can be used on these new Star Wars figs if I buy 2 or more right ? The coupon specifies it has to be $25 or more before taxes on any Hasbro Toy(s) or game(s) excluding the exceptions so technically if I buy 2 or more I should get $10 off. Anyone confirm or deny or even tried it ?

It won't work for Star Wars, there are only specific sub-brands that you can use it on.

After seeing how wave one has played out I am not too worried.

Yes Fett is going to be tough to find initially, but like Maul in wave one, there will be a lot of restock and he should be easier to find closer to Christmas other immediately after.

Target in Ancaster had two cases put out yesterday morning. Two of each, including Fetts. I didn't buy anything as I already had found Boba Fett and Leia at Walmart last week.

Re: Star Wars Black Series 6" Wave 2 Released in Canada

I would tend to agree with canprime. Everyone was worried you wouldn't be able to find Sandtroopers or Maul when Wave 1 initially came out, and while they were the most popular figures in the wave, there were numerous times when I did see them on the shelves at Target and Walmart in the months since they were released.

That's why I wasn't in a panic to pick up the wonky-eyed Solo; I knew I'd find him again. Hopefully this time with normal eyes lol.

Re: Star Wars Black Series 6" Wave 2 Released in Canada

I am worried, Wave 1 hit the stores in August with only 1 or 2 sets every couple of weeks and it took about 2 months until the wave started pouring in at TRU's. So we'll be getting only 1 or 2 sets in stores this month, and usually after Christmas it takes a couple months for stores to start ordering toys again. It could be a while after this months run, but hopefully in December they'll get a bunch in for Christmas stock. Nothing better than holding several figures in your hands and picking the one with the best paint job!

I had to pick through several Han Solo's at the Ancaster Target to find one where his paint apps weren't all screwed up, so it was indeed nice to have some extra figures to pick through.

That being said, paint issues on some Han's aside, this figure is all I could have hoped for.

Picked up the only set of four Walmart had at the Baseline Ottawa location. Should have passed on slave Leia, she's a bit crap...but the rest are spot on!

By pure luck I found the only Fett at a Wal-Mart in Pickering. He was there in front beside Greedo and Pilot Luke. I have yet to see any Han but I'll pay full price for him like I did Fett but the others I can wait for a sale.

Is it just me or should Greedo's eyes be round and not oval?

Cracked open a new case last night at a Walmart. Only took the Fett, but both Greedo & Han looked really nice.

Re: Star Wars Black Series 6" Wave 2 Released in Canada

Heads up, Target's Holiday Sales book includes a coupon for 5$ off a 24$ Star Wars toy, it does not appear to work for LEGO, however Hasbro merch is fair game. Just scored a Slave Leia for 22$ and change after taxes.

Downside, while I did try to make sure she had the best paint job on the face her leg has a splotch on it from the boot coloring I missed due to the placement of her soft goods skirt in the box. Oh well, all I really cared about was making sure her face didn't look stupid, plus it's green so it could just be a bit of Jabba slime she's picked up.

It's not just you, his eyes should be round but seem to have elongated as they worked out the head sculpt. It's not obnoxiously wrong though.

Re: Star Wars Black Series 6" Wave 2 Released in Canada

How many waves of SWB 6" can we be expecting per year? Collecting whole lines can be expensive at $25 a crack, and I'm just in time to start with this one, but there's a big difference between $400/ yr and $800/ yr. and with Marvel Legends heading to that price soon, I may need to resort to selling non-vital organs heh!

Re: Star Wars Black Series 6" Wave 2 Released in Canada

I'd bet there will be at least six waves per year.

Plus them getting into Vehicles & Jabba, both already rumored.

I read somewhere that a Scout Trooper with Speeder bike is in the works.

Keep in mind they did similar things with the old 12 inch line as well. Speeder Bikes, Taun Taun's, Dewbacks, that type of stuff.

Sorry, a little off topic, but did you score those wave 2 figs here in Edmonton? Did you score a Boba too?

When you mentioned vehicles, I was thinking a Landerspeeder in that scale would be pretty sweet.

If they do vehicles, I'm really scared to see the pricing on them. especially for a Millenium Falcon
