In the Fall of 1987, Star Trek fans were introduced to a completely new take on Star Trek. Set nearly 80 years after the original series, Star Trek: The Next Generation followed a new crew that manned the latest take on the U.S.S. Enterprise, the NCC-1701-D. The cast was diverse and interesting, featuring surprise members, such as a Klingon, an android and even a blind conn officer.
