Gi Joe Classified Retro Zartan & Storm Shadow Released in Canada
 

Thanks to a report from AFN member canprime we now know that the GI Joe Classified Retro Zartan has been sighted at a Walmart in Ontario. We are also seeing reports of the Retro Storm Shadow being released as well.

these need to stop being exclusive, walmart sucks and they don't get enough anyways.

Biggest issue I'm seeing is that only half their stores carry these. Suppy hasn't been terrible in Winnipeg, but the fact that some Walmart stores don't carry Classified is extra problematic.

Storm Shadow showed up at 2 Winnipeg stores today. No Zartan yet.

Hoping I see him. I never saw SE or CG in BC. However, I was lucky enough to preorder. These two however did not have that option.

the stores that do get them get just 1 or 2 boxes which have 4 figures iirc. I only found one figure in the wild and it was because it was misplaced in the junk pile, and walmart has never honored a gi joe retro pre-order for me...they just keep the money until I complained.

has anyone in NB seen Storm Shadow? I have been able to get everyone else in the series except for him, I checked stores pretty much everyday for a month, I feel like we never got him.... or I missed out....

Four figures to a case now, at least since Snake Eyes and Crimson Guard.

Might have been 8 per case for Gung Ho, Destro, Jaye and Baroness. Not sure, but I always found 8 each of those ones when they first hit.

Hey, I'm in NB and found him at the Walmart in Miramichi a bit over a week ago. Stocktrack is showing it as out of stock there now though. Same for Dieppe and Fredericton. UPC 5010993973439.

Haven't seen either in any walmart in Concorde/Thornhill/Maple area. I don't even see ANY classified figs. Have the regular releases of both figs so it's fine but just GI joe at my Walmarts is practically non existent.

STC walmart. I think also at golden mile walmart or east scarb. One or the other.

Very minimal changes between the two. I'd still get the retro if I ever find it, but I won't be too bummed out if I don't. Thanks for posting the comparison photos!

Does the retro carded Storm Shadow have skin tone issues with his elbows? Or was that just my imagination?

Is it the lighting/photo, or is Retro SS whiter than the regular release?


Here it looks like the regular release has a slight beige tint to his outfit.

Saw a couple retro Zartans at Wal-Mart last night but no Storm Shadows. I'm still on the fence if I want to buy these or not. Storm Shadow might be a slight upgrade on the mainline release but I'm not sure Zartan is. Not for $35.99 anyways. If they go on clearance like Destro, Lady Jaye and Baroness did I'll pick them up though.

Good find, nighthawk! If I see him anywhere I'm picking him up. Missed him twice on Pulse, but it's my favourite version of Storm Shadow.

I have seen a few people mix-and-matching parts between SS, and the Retro version is a brighter white.

Not sure yet if I want retro Zartan, as I already have two versions of him, and June will be a target-rich environment for buying/pre-ordering Joes.

Everybody get their Python CG's, Artic BATs and Trouble Bubbles yesterday? Arm and a leg right there!

Just some comments. The retro SS uniform is more white. The skin tone is slightly darker.

The retro SS is the version I really want. Been all over Nova Scotia and have seen mostly beat up Jaye cards though one Walmart had a Zartan. Hope this becomes available online.

Almost two months later and I've never seen a Zartan in any Walmart store here in NB. I've come across every other retro figure as they were released. Kind of frustrating. As others said, it would be nice if Walmart actually sold exclusives like this on their website.

Managed to find SS back in-stock for a few minutes on Pulse and ordered a couple. They showed up yesterday and naturally the box was partially crushed, so the cardbacks are bent/folded several different directions despite being carefully packed from Hasbro...

Looking forward to the thicker cardboard and non-exclusive ones moving forward.

To my knowledge Winnipeg only ever saw Storm Shadow.

I only ever saw SS in Vancouver BC. I got Zartan online from someone.
