Walmart’s Covid 19 return policy

So it seems that Walmart has temporarily updated their return policy. Packaging they has been opened will not, for the time being, be eligible for return. Not surprising really. Luckily Amazon is still taking returns if your you is broken.

Here's hoping this deters those damned figure swappers.

Count me among them. It only came to my attention because my daughter had to return an article of clothing which led to me looking into it further.

Or at least surprised them when they realize they actually had to pay for their figure

The 2 stores I went to today weren't accepting any returns at all contrary to their websites listed policies. Their Customer Service desks were closed.

It was confusing when it says they will accept items that are still sealed...

This has been standard in Manitoba as well.

Most businesses are asking customers to hang onto their returns until the pandemic has run its course.

That is the policy here as well at most businesses. Very interested to know whom Walmarts online in store policy was targeting then lol

They were doing returns before but I'm not going out very often so I guess something changed...

They probably just aren't updating their website since the policies will vary by region and will change frequently.

I think people just need to remember that these individual store units are dealing with limited resources while also trying to manage a whole slew of extra tasks to keep everybody safe.

Everybody needs to expect that at any time when you go to any store, you may encounter different service than what is posted on a national website.

To be fair I'm not expecting much when I actually go into a store, however national website or not does it take a tonne of time to maybe add a comment in the FAQ that there could be differences? The wording is pretty clear I don't see why it can't be updated accordingly at a national level - they want us to check ahead before leaving the house then supply us with the current info it's a billion dollar company not a mom and pop shop.

I mean I'm trying to do my due diligence so I don't have to go places I don't have to go, in this case I was heading to one of my schools to prep some equipment for students to take home so it wasn't a trip for this specific reason.

I don't know I feel like it's not that difficult to keep things up to date at a corporate level and what does it do? It keeps people that don't need to be in your store away and isn't that what we need?
