Retro Marvel Legends are now out in Canada
 

Marvel Legends Retro Series is now out in Canada. The sightings have been made by Cobra Commander & Tonestar in Ontario and jdmcometh in Manitoba.

Though you can get them on TRU.ca currently also.

They are going for $34.99.

They don't seem to be included in their sale atm.

Although I think the retro packaging is cool, I'd rather just get the original 90's Toybiz figures. For $200+ you could get a lot of them MOC.

At $34.99 these reused figures are not worth it.

If you didn't get Wolverine or Pizza Spidey originally this is a good chance but Pizza Spidey is now worse since he is missing accessories and they changed the blue color which looks awful.

To get a baf hulk or doc ock might have been cool to nod this old series. I bought them all in Minneapolis back in the 90s. I had hulk, doc ock and a daredevil that got released back then too. The widow is a weird add but I need a widow so I'm not complaining.

While I agree that the price is a bit high, these are merely for a MOC collector cash in. They will sell. I pre ordered 4 of the 6 at the standard $29.99 CDN, and pretty much regret all but the Black Widow at this point. If I decide to get rid of them I will let them go for what I paid or use them as trade bait in the future.

Definitely disagree. It sucks taking a hit on the extra hands, but I love the paint job on the Retro Spidey. It has a matte overcoat, which looks way better (imho) than the oiled-up shine that the Hobgoblin wave one has.
And the lighter blue is a nice call-back to the 80s Spider-man tv show and comics--before the grimdark wave of the 90s hit--quite fitting for the retro-style packaging

Though admittedly, I'm waiting for a sale before picking up the entire wave.
Except Wolverine. Just couldn't resist that arm hair.

The blue is awful. It's a downgrade sorry. OG is best like usual.

Black Widow is the worst one. Her head is the Mary Jane head from the recent TRU 2 pack and there is a better BW with her bike coming soon too.

Iron Man is the only good one and Wolverine is an actual upgrade.

LOL dude, relax. We get it, you think these are a waste of money...most of us do.

Yes there is a new black widow on the way and I'm sure she will be over priced considering you gotta buy the bike too. I'm just going to use an extra Dark Phoenix/Jean Grey head for the retro figure. And I see the guy above's point regarding the paint on the retro Spidey, it definitely has a nice matte finish compared to the high gloss finish on the hob goblin wave version...less shine makes it easier to photograph. It also has a slight improvement in articulation in the hips allowing the legs to split a bit farther.

Iron man lacks an ankle pivot...so that's a pretty big fail in itself.

You are coming across like you are attacking people's taste in a TOY. Dude likes the new paint, you don't, move along.

I do wonder what justifies these being $35+tax (for TRU at least). Maybe they saw how strongly the 40th 6" Star Wars figures sold and are trying to gouge a little bit? If Canucktibles can sell them for $30, no reason why TRU couldn't have too.

What are they retailing for at Walmart? TRU could be pricing them higher as they seem to be the first to market with them...that or you know, the financial struggle they are going through.

I ordered 4 at Canucktibles, felt the price was fair. I planned on opening Widow and Punisher, but just recently found a dusty Punisher exclusive at EB...so I will have 3 displayed on card somewhere in my mess.

TRU has been doing this for a while. See the Star Wars Black exclusives like Commander Gree/AT-ACT driver/first order snowtrooper leader - start at $34.99 and then they basically become permanently discounted when they last long enough.
