It's a nice article, I'm glad there's someone who wants to take the opportunity to make these stores more 'fun'. It'll be interesting to see these changes take shape :)

Toys “R” Us in Surrey BC is closing for good on October 24. Is this happening across the country to some stores?

There's definitely some restructuring going on, and I'd imagine some underperforming stores may be closing. The pandemic may be old news and being ignored (wrongly) by some, but it's still news, and its effects are still going on for lots of stores. One would think this would help spur them to rework their lackluster site a bit more, or at least get product on there in a timely manner.

I haven’t noticed any change at the three Winnipeg stores of late.

The most recent one that closed was the one in Richmond Hill, ON. It was considered an underperforming location.

The Surrey location is closed or closing. Staff said the landlord did not renew the lease. I think condos are going to be built on the property.

Drove by a few days ago. Looks pretty much empty.
