Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

OK I opened these up. It's mixed for me. The clear winners are Jango, Han and Finn. Jango is my favorite. Great paint apps an face sculpt.

Han's likeness is dead on but his holster is molded to his right leg so you can't really move it much.

Finn. This is the Finn your looking for...get it.

Now on the downside. The Flametrooper looks menacing. But damn is it useless. There is basically no practical articulation to it. The elbow hardly bend. The gun is next to impossible to hold. The knees bend nicely but these guys don't need to do that now do they? Dynamic poses are limited, especially with the arms. They just kind of stand there. Also, his arms don't even raise at all to the sides (abduction). Zero movement. Aiming the flame thrower is very difficult with both hands on it which is how I'd like to pose mine. It's always pointing in a neutral position I both hands are on it. To the side.

Resistance Trooper has got to be the goofiest figure so far. Even Zuvio looks better. The gun is way too big and the entire outfit is laughable. Not well executed at all.

Tie Fighter Pilot is a cool update.

Do you think Jango's head would fit onto the eps2 Clonetrooper neck post? I'd been thinking about this as a way to show off an unmasked clonetrooper for my displays...

Now that Finn does look really good... Hasbro screwed up... this should've been figure 01, far more exciting look for his character!

I still hadn't taken my Flametrooper out of the box, jeez if those are the best poses, I wonder if I won't just keep him boxed lol.

Yes it will fit, just tried it, but it's a little tighter. The neck peg holes the TFA figures are using are slightly smaller then the holes used before the TFA waves. That's an interesting idea.

I grabbed the Kylo saber on a great sale and I own the Vader MR saber. To me the build of the Kylo is excellent and will make a fine addition to my collection.

Maybe not the best place to ask this question as it does not involve the black series figures, but I'm looking for some intel on the black series lightsabers.

How do the Hasbro sabers hold up to the Master Replica versions? I passed years ago on the Anakin saber and now see that Hasbro has released it again under the Luke banner. Wondering if the quality is similar or if it is the exact same? $180 bucks seems high, and I dont want to gamble if the quality lacks.

I own 2 of the master replica sabers (Vader and ROTJ Luke...the original style with the non removable blades), and I love them. The hilts are heavy, metal and highly detailed.

For those of you who have seen the movie, did I miss something? I don't remember seeing Constable Zuvio in the film, yet he gets a figure like someone with at least a couple minutes screen time. (I'm looking at you Guavian Enforcer.)

Uhh... so I found and got a Jango at a TRU a week ago and it turns out he's missing his jetpack. Would Hasbro send me a replacement piece if I e-mailed them?
