That Kylo Ren Saber will be mine :)

Thanks for the catalog link.

Thanks for the catalogue pics.

Sadly, the upcoming items listed do very little for me.

I'm basically sticking with the 6" line and the Titanium ships that are new. Everything else is either a pass, or buy at big discount. (With the Sabers and blasters being close to a "buy").

I'm sure when the movie hits I will regret not having picked up some items.

Someone on reddit mentioned an article on marvelous news that reported that the snowtrooper will be available in Canada towards the end of October. I can't find the article to confirm, though.

I preordered the amazon.com exclusive cause they ship to Canada. But I have no idea how to get the others. Please share your methods

Do you have any U.S. friends willing to middle man the Other exclusives to you? This is how I've been doing it. You pick up a few items here in Canada as a favour for someone and they'll do the same for you (as long as you send the funds on time!).

I've got both Amazon sets ordered as well as the 6" EE set through a friend. $30 USD is pretty steep for the Desert Assault Walker, especially when I only want the Stormtrooper officer so I'll hold off on that one for now.

Ouch. The entertainment earth box is 185 with shipping and exchange. Need that black r2, tho.

Just like before the TFA line come out, if I can't find the 6" figures at regular retail I won't be buying any. Distro in Canada has been poor as we all know. I am not willing to pay an import premium on this stuff. Heck, I'd much rather get em on sale but we'll see. Hopefully this is just a dip in quantity due to Force Friday and these may be easier to obtain in a little bit.

So since, the Black Series now includes other stuff besides the figures, I noticed on the TRU.ca site you can get the Star Wars The Black Series Kylo Ren Force FX Deluxe Lightsaber for a good price. If you use the discount code STARWARSLOYAL for an additional 10% off you can get the saber for $155 instead of the list price of $220. The yoda, luke, and Vader ones are also on for a good price with the discount applied.

I preordered 2 of the Snowtrooper Officers and only got a discount on one of them, so I don't think you can bundle the discount.

Well I managed to get a Sandtrooper Seargeant (white pauldron) exclusive preordered loose from Dorksidetoys. That's the only one I wanted from the Entertainment Earth set. The others are also available if anyone is interested.

Now to hunt down a Kmart Kylo!

Edit: found another one. A UK Argos exclusive 2 pack. Good thing I have a sister living in England.

I love the design of the new armor and I like the figure, the armor is glossier than the previous storm/clone troopers which is nice but the elbows are not double for this one the arm cant even bend 90 degrees so no fancy aiming down the sight/dual wielding poses with these.

This. I am underwhelmed by most of the new toy offerings, and not invested in the Disney-verse enough to buy any of them anyways. At least not for regular prices. And with the dollar gone down the crapper, I'm shying away from any U.S. online-exclusives too.

I was just at the EB Games at University Plaza in Hamilton and they had Black Series Ep 7 Chewie and Kylo Ren.

So add another store that's selling these to the list!

Wintermute 09-19-2015 11:48 AM

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

Slight rant:

Hasbro. Double-jointed elbows in Black Series figures.

Why do the ones that desperately need it (i.e. any lightsaber-wielding figure, First Order Stormtrooper, Chewbacca, etc., etc.) don't get the double-jointed elbows, YET the ones that absolutely don't need it (Emperor Palpatine and Yoda) have it!?

Old dudes/aliens in robes don't need double-jointed elbows, man!

Fack!

...I still love you, Hasbro.

thepepperskull 09-19-2015 01:42 PM

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

^ Agreed. I think for them it's easier to hide the double jointed elbows on armored or soft goods robed action figs. This is something I like about Hasbro's figures, the well-hidden joints in comparison to other brands' figures.

...But that still doesn't explain why we didn't get double-jointed elbows on the First Order Stormtrooper.

EDIt: And while we're at it, Hasbro, stop making removable helmets on your figures. Your removable helmets never end up looking right. Swappable heads always end up much, much better.

Wintermute 09-19-2015 01:55 PM

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

Yeah, I really hope they redo Darth Vader. Just have him in his helmet, no removable pieces. It's cool what they did, and the likeness to David Prowse underneath is well done, but the helmet does not sit right.

thepepperskull 09-19-2015 02:24 PM

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

I just hope they change the upcoming Jango to have swappable heads instead of a removable helmet.

Apparently they're going to release a realistic style Sabine from Rebels for the 6 inch Black Series line and she's getting swappable heads.

I wish the holes under the feet for the 6" line were all the same size. I've yet to find a decent solution to stand these up. Seems every figure has a different size hole.

IG88 works with those grey ones that came with marvel legends a couple years ago.
