1 Attachment(s)
Thanks to AFN member trodge we now know that the Toys"R"Us Exclusive Star Wars Vintage Collection Republic Gunship has been released in Canada. This set includes figures of Yoda, a Clone Trooper, a Clone Pilot and two Gunner Pods and is regularly priced for $169.99.

The initial sighting was made at a Toys"R"Us in Ontario.

That is quite the hefty price, even with the extras.

TRU London had one - just one. It was being held and looked over by a father and son, so I had to circle a few times until they put it down to look at one of those crappy Han Solo Carbonite piggy-banks. Snatched it and ran like hell for the cash.

Saw a couple of these at TRU Regent in WPG yesterday. Nice looking but a pass for me.

Is this bigger than the previous released ones?

From what I understand it's the mold prior to the crumb bomber. I'll know for sure later tonight.

Question...why would a collector shell out this kind of money for a re-release and not go after something vintage??...just a thought...

has always made me go hmmmmmmmm...

same goes for those that go after high priced modern hockey card's....

For me, personally, I own one of every release, therefore I will own this one as well. Luckily I live in a Border city so I don't have to feel as F'd as I could. The fact that they are charging, $60.00 more than the US price is totally unfair, the same goes with every Star Wars toy released in Canada. I can't help but to feel like I'm getting RXPXD everytime I go in a store over here. It is truly depressing.

Not much to hrmmm about. I already own the vintage pieces that can be owned. I've scoured toy conventions for years picking up almost all there really obscure vehicles and figures (No body rigs as of yet but there are limits to what even I will spend freely)

The price is not great or even good I'm with you there, but nothing I do about it is going to change it -and I want one of everything. I could hang around and wait for a sale or for them to be remaindered off to Winners or something, but my time is more valuable to me than the savings would be.

I'm lucky that I make good enough money to support my habit, I realize the economics won't work the same for everyone and I've nothing against people who feel a particular piece is priced out of reach but that's the reality of any field of collecting. Everyone's situation is different and there simply aren't any hard and fast rules about what is too expensive and what is "fair". Everyone makes up their own mind and that's great.

Good luck in your own collecting! Be happy about what you get and what you spent.
