Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

I like the Acolyte figures even though I have no interest in them. At least there is a couple more Jedi Robe bodies to work with going forward (supposedly at least 1 of them is all new from top to...

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

Yeah TRU has Star Wars stuff on sale this week (starting today). So Amazon's algorithm is just matching up.

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

I like the idea, and the execution is ok, but no interest on my part.

I could go for the stands themselves though. Always nice to have a variety of display options and a light up base is good.

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

Yep, but I am a bit surprised this one isn't more popular. I think it is a great use for the Halloween theme. You get a "werewolf" and a little "bat" plus a jack-o-lantern style candy holder.

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

Yeah releasing another Lando so soon makes no sense considering how much he has pegwarmed both here and in the US.

He is a great character, but clearly not an in demand figure.

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

Man I wish I was still collecting BS, that is a great deal.

However I'll pass as I'm not interested, and thankfully this isn't in a store where I'm 100% sure I would have picked it up without...

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

Someone reported that their Frankie Raye Nova from the Galactus Haslab had her head snap off after taking her out and moving the head.

I had the same situation with a Flash figure a few years...

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

Thanks for that, I was just wondering if the paint/gloss came out well, and consistent, considering the seemingly more prevalent cases of QC issues with SW figures lately.

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

Anyone who gets their Darktrooper...can you post pics, or at least post about how the paint/gloss looks in hand?

Thanks

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

Nothing is changing with Walmart and Hasbro. Don't buy into the "panic" like some places online a couple months ago when they were saying Target was dumping ML. It isn't happening. Walmart is...

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

I think the recent ML packaging reveals, and comments from different brand teams, has made it more likely that the decision has been made.

The packaging has been completely sealed, no window...

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

They switched to metal for the hilts and that is when the prices started skyrocketing.

I picked up Kylo Ren's and Darth Vader's sabers on clearance from Walmart for $50 and $75 a couple years...

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

Actually they opened a brand new store in a mall in New Jersey. So they are making the slow push towards expansion. However I don't see them being anything like their old selves but rather, at best,...

Yep, boycott Walmart as well.

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

It will probably be somewhat problematic up here.

Nerdzoic in the States says he got a bunch of cases of Grievous in recently. Something that was made available by one of his distributors. So if...

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

TRU up here is in a different position than TRU US when it went bankrupt.

However that doesn't mean it won't/can't happen here. Esepcially with the new pricing increases. It could result in a...

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

Because they will?

Let's be honest, it only takes one, and then the rest will follow suit.

Although Walmart has the Retro ML Fantastic Four figures for only $29.97 which is less than their...

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

I would say the Cobb Vanth was probably the most glaring example of this. What exactly made him deluxe? The paint?

Now the Senate Guard from Gaming Greats is also a fine example of nothing for a...

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

Honestly until the Americans break the $30 price barrier for a single figure (mainline) we won't see much movement.

The reality is we are peanuts next to our neighbours to the south. Yeah they...

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

D'oh, I didn't realize 1/6 is 12", not 6" (even though I should have).

So yeah 40cm is about 16". I would imagine that 20" might be where they end up for size.

Good old Ontario education at...

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

Yeah thinking about it now, and watching the scene again I could see 32", but I think in my mind's eye I can't reconcile the math with the image.

Also I will be intrigued to see how big he ends up...

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

Where did you find the height number?

When I look it up, the most common numbers range from about 16-20 feet in height from Return of the Jedi.

That would make the Rancor about 3 times the...

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

Well if they are doing proper scale (within reason of course), the Rancor shouldn't be anywhere near as big as Galactus.

He should probably be even smaller than the Sentinel in height. So if that...
