Actually the British ruled India, GiJoe has a big history in India. Look up Funskool who manufactured Gi Joe there under license. Last time I went there in 2002 Gi Joe was widely available. Somewhat cheaper plastic and very cheap paper used for cards but at $2 Canadian a pop a great place to army build.
