Terrible example. The final renderings weren't done for many of the wave 1 and 2 characters since the production on toys had to start when filming of the started and CG was being worked on. Hence the then inaccurate paint apps.
This is why the premium line was done to try and give collectors a more accurate version of the characters they saw on screen. I'm sure some were redone just for the reason of getting extra cash but certainly not all of them.
