I wouldn't say they are peg warming. That's a term for toys that aren't selling.
Super Powers are new toys that are just showing up. And also these are well stocked. But with McFarlane's efficiency compared to say... Hasbro with their slow production, we got wave 1 and 2 around the same time and maybe gave the illusion that these are moving slow.
There is a certain charm to retro style figures. If they have more articulation or larger size then they won't be Super Powers. Plus it's been done before by Mattel with their DC Universe Classics line.
