Re: Haslab Projects General Discussion

Update:

Ghost Rider: 5,357 / 9,000 (-31) 59.52% of funding with 26d 20h left.

Heroscape: 1,627 / 8,000 (+174) 20.34% of funding with 41d 21h left.

Well Madelyne Pryor continued to do nothing for this project. It looks like they will make their last stand for this at NYCC where they are supposedly going to show off everything.

I just don't know what, if anything, they can do anymore. Short of massive new reveals, such as one of the old school Ghost Riders with their vehicle, I don't know that anything can move the needle anymore. It just seems that the stink surrounding this project has taken on a life of its' own and it is like swimming against the current.

Next meeting at Hasbro:

Marvel Legends team lead:

"Quick! What other X-Men characters can we sneak into the tiers to get the X-Fans onboard for our lackluster Ghost Rider offering so far???"

This isn't Haslab specific, but it seems pretty untimely for them to make this announcement considering how poor the reactions to SLU and the Engine of Vengeance price tags have been.

Also, why announce this to your customers? Sure could be interpreted as them announcing that we're all gonna be spending 50% more money

Re: Haslab Projects General Discussion

"grow profit by 50% over 3 years"

Well, I guess now we know just how much the price of 6-inch mainline figures will be rising by in the next 3 years too! So will a $36 figure be costing us $18 more in 3 years? That's only a mere $54 for a Marvel Legends or SW Black series or GI Joe Classified...

EDIT: I see that Hasbro locked the Instagram post so that no one could reply. Hmmm. Maybe they knew their customers weren't going to take the news in a positive way.

Here's the reality check though:

Hasbro cautions of a decline in annual revenue amid rising inflation
https://www.reuters.com/business/ret...st-2022-10-04/
Oct 4 (Reuters) - Hasbro Inc on Tuesday cut its full-year revenue forecast, a sign that price hikes and unabating inflation were prompting consumers to reduce spending on its toys.

While toy companies have been relatively resistant to the impact of decades-high inflation, which rose to 8.3%, analysts have warned rising costs are taking a toll on shoppers and would affect the industry as well.

Analysts at J.P. Morgan have noted investor concerns about retailers potentially reducing the inventory of the toymaker's products heading into the all-important holiday season as consumers increasingly cut discretionary purchases.

Walmart Inc (WMT.N) and Target Corp (TGT.N), which have both spelled out plans to drastically reduce inventory levels in recent weeks, together account for over a third of Hasbro's sales, according to UBS.

The Monopoly maker lowered its annual revenue forecast to between flat and slightly down on a constant currency basis from its prior expectation of a low single-digit revenue growth.

Hasbro said it expects third-quarter revenue to decline approximately 15% on a reported basis and 12% excluding the impact of foreign exchange.

Still, the company aims to increase profit by 50% over the next three years, with plans to expand margins to 20% by 2027 as they focus on selling more toys and games such as Peppa Pig and Nerf Guns directly to consumers and via online channels. Hasbro reported an operating margin of 16.4% in the third quarter.

The largest U.S. toymaker also forecast it will report annual revenue of $8.5 billion or greater by 2027.

Update:

Ghost Rider: 5,306 / 9,000 (-51) 58.96% of funding with 25d 20h left.

Heroscape: 1,814 / 8,000 (+187) 22.66% of funding with 40d 21h left.

So barring some unexpected turn around Ghost Rider will drop below 5,300 some time today. Yes there is a lot of time left, but it doesn't seem like much of anything can stop the bleeding at this time.

Re: Haslab Projects General Discussion

currently those numbers that's 1,857,100.00 US dollars roughly on the table that Hasbro tends lose if Ghost Rider isnt funded. Will be interesting to see if they cave more to make this happen so they can get sales or if they are actually willing to lose money on the table.

Technically, they?ll have only lost the R&D cost and the cost of any prototype.

Whether that makes them try harder on the next haslab or abandon them completely will be the question. If the loss is an acceptable expense or if it?s just not worth it without the return they would have got with sales

Well the Hellcharger keeps losing backers. It needs to get a couple of days of gains again, otherwise it could end up being right where the Rancor was in the final days with no Malikili type tier in sight (something absolutely necessary for the Hellcharger).

Heroscape: 2,090 / 8,000 (+123) 26.13% of funding with 38d 18h left.

Ghost Rider still dropping. It still has a lot of time left (more than 3 weeks), but it has only gained backers twice since it started losing backers. The Rancor at least had a couple of days of losses, then a couple days of gains, etc. over the course of 2 weeks. This is starting to go in a different, and more negative trend. If it doesn't change, it could be weeks of daily losses which will put us under 5,000 backers before the final days.
