Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

I think some Walmart's might be slowly starting to phase out Black series figures in favor of Vintage collection. Perhaps due to poor sales and seeing if VC does better? My local Walmart's haven't stocked VC in years then all of a sudden they've started stocking the VC Mando wave after clearancing the black series figures. Some have went as far as removing the black series tag from the pegs as well.

Is Canada skipping the Black Series Remnant Stormtrooper? I've haven't seen any of the usual sites listing it.

I hear that 6" Remnant is a Target Exclusive in the US, so maybe it might show up in TRU or EB up North?

I'm not that crazy about it either. It's ok for what it is though.

Cant say I'm surprised at this point.

It's better than pretty much anything that's come in recent memory.

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

It's certainly the best star wars thing produced by disney, but that's not saying much, I watched season one and had no interest in more. I'd still like a figure of mando himself, but that's been more trouble than it's worth so far.

Yeah cause everything else that's come out in recent memory in terms of Live Action offerings aside from Rogue one have been either mediocre or awful. The bar is set super low right now so of course when a show that is decent like the Mandalorian comes along it's going to look better than what it actually is.

Yeah I finished season 1 about a month ago and never felt the urge to watch anymore. It's just extremely average in my opinion. The production quality is great, but that's it really. Maybe season 2 is better? but I don't think I have it in me to sit through another season of hearing "this is the way" and other badly written dialogue. I might do it to see Ahsoka but that's a strong maybe.

The show. The figures are fine. I just don't feel this show warrants the kind of praise it gets. I also think it wouldn't be getting this praise if the fan base wasn't starving for decent live action star wars content.

As a Fairweather Star Wars fan (I've seen the movies - don't care enough to play the games or read the books. Hadn't previously seen the animated stuff) this show got me into Star Wars like nothing before. It was the thing that made me want to get the toys and watch the cartoons and read the comics. I think a lot of the praise it has received is earned.
