Well if they are doing proper scale (within reason of course), the Rancor shouldn't be anywhere near as big as Galactus.

He should probably be even smaller than the Sentinel in height. So if that is the case I hope they keep it closer to $300.

the raconr is 500cm. 1/6 should be 83cm. so actually a tad taller and much, much more mass. But galactus is the more complex sculpt and lights up. My guess is around the same price.

Where did you find the height number?

When I look it up, the most common numbers range from about 16-20 feet in height from Return of the Jedi.

That would make the Rancor about 3 times the height of a 6' person, which would only translate to 20" versus 6" Black Series figures. Granted the width/mass would be different than a Sentinel, or Galactus, but still not anywhere near the same height as the Galactus Haslab.

I don't think I would go for a Rancor that was larger than Galactus, it would seem too large for the creature.

I think it will be smaller than Galactus, and the Sentinel (in height), but still pretty hefty for mass. I'll be interested to see what they include as the tiers.

Of course this all boils down to the same problem for all 3 Haslab. Scale in the source material. The heights vary so wildly from medium to medium that almost anything could fit scale-wise when translated to toy form.

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

It is the official height on starwars.com (5 meters).

https://www.starwars.com/databank/rancor

having said that, other sites peg him at 420cm (14 feet)...so 1/6 would be 70cm. It will be interesting to see what Hasbro does.

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

Yeah thinking about it now, and watching the scene again I could see 32", but I think in my mind's eye I can't reconcile the math with the image.

Also I will be intrigued to see how big he ends up being because of his squat body/mass. Will they give him full leg extension to reach 32", or will there be a stop point?

Either way I don't know if I would bite at anything over $400US.

SW Black is a 1/12 scale line. It only needs to be about 40cm tall.

D'oh, I didn't realize 1/6 is 12", not 6" (even though I should have).

So yeah 40cm is about 16". I would imagine that 20" might be where they end up for size.

Good old Ontario education at work. 1+1 = fish!

At that size I could see the Rancor being sub $300 on Haslab.
