Re: Hot Toys or other 1/6th goodness that makes our wallets cry

The inner box was pretty banged up on Batman, which was disappointing, but thankfully the figure himself is well protected inside the packaging.

It's eerie how good the likeness is to Christian Bale, and whatever they have done with the eyes, it really does seem like he is watching you no matter where you move the head.

Have yet to find the cape, but haven't yet completely unboxed the Dark Knight yet either. May happen tonight, but here are a few quick shots of him in the packaging...

Here he is with the accessories unveiled under the nice cardboard top that hides the things like his utility belt and such.

Looks excellent. Toys2 said they shipped mine a couple days ago. Still no sign of the Bat Pod. I didn't realize his utility belt was a separate molded piece. Nice.

Re: Hot Toys or other 1/6th goodness that makes our wallets cry

Oh man. Just fiddled with my Batman for about 15 minutes. It's awesome. The rubber helps it feel less like a doll. Definitely 10x better than the Reeves Superman. I'll post photos later when the Batpod comes in (supposed to be in a week or two).

Right off the bat though, I noticed that when you put the sticky gun together and extend the front half, the gun is crooked. I'll post a photo of that too later on. While I am not sure I will dive fullon into HT's, I think when it comes to one-off purchases, I'll probably bite. Thinking of IM now. I'll see how I feel once I have the Batpod.

Re: Hot Toys or other 1/6th goodness that makes our wallets cry

congrats guys on the DX 12.

for anybody adventerous you can mod the figure to make him just a tad bit more accurate.

here's a huge online tutorial on the things that you can do

I myself will be doing the gaunlet mod, painting the eyelids to make them less prominant, and the chest mod.

Also, I got an email from SSC that my waitlist for Gordon will be converting. Apparently they found one in stock!

So by the end of next week, I should have Gordon, Batman DX 12, Hawkeye and Iron Monger arriving at my doorstep

Picked up my Hawkeye from Toys2 on the weekend. =) Can't post pics yet as I'll be opening it on Christmas. Hopefully, with Cap.

Re: Hot Toys or other 1/6th goodness that makes our wallets cry

Hey all. Just received my very first HT figure and I've been posing and futzing with it for about an hour. I bit the bullet and ordered this guy (this thread was partly to blame). But I lowered my expectation because of the inaccuracies talked about in the Freaks board. But wow, colour me impressed! I wish I held out for Lance's rayon cape as that one is more in scale I think, but I love the feel of the velvet one.

So that's one down and 4 more to go lol.

That's a great scene! Probably my 2nd favourite after the first confrontation with Bane. I think the head looks really good. The beard looks a bit too thick. I think it looks more scraggly if that makes any sense.

Can't wait to see the final product as I really liked the execution of your interrogation and sewer dioramas.

As for mods, I think the black eye mod is the only one I'd feel comfortable in trying honestly.
