Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

Picked up a Stormtrooper at a TRU in Ottawa this morning, actually! One case was put out, but I'd already found a Luke at Target a few weeks back. So they're starting to show up...maybe?

Picked up a white boba today while in buffalo. He's nice.

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

A while back I was ranting about how the 4" Marvel series figures seemed to be taking all these steps in the wrong direction lately/near future, and took some shots a how expensive 6" stuff was, and that they weren't worth what you're getting(Marvel and Star Wars). And although I still think you're getting burned on the 6" Marvel stuff, I got to say that I'm completely wrong about the 6" Black Series Star Wars stuff.

With this recent 25% off sale at TRU, I finally got the chance to purchase the Biker Scout/Speeder Bike set. And I have to say that this is definitely a set worth getting(wicked figure).

This isn't my first buy from this line, in fact I've actually bought quite a few figures. One thing that really makes this line worth getting into, is the fact that I think almost every figure is a brand new mold/sculpt(unlike the new Marvel Legends-same bodies, different heads). And the accessories(they all come with something-it just adds to the value).

This has to be one of, if not the best line of figures I've seen lately, in any scale(c'mon G.I.Joe, bring on your 6" line). This line puts the new Hasbro Marvel Legends to shame.

Oh, and on another note, have any of you guys purchased the Jabba the Hutt set? Is it worth it? It just seems hard to throw down the money on this guy, even with this current sale price. As iconic as he is, all I see is a big blob of plastic.

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

I purchased the Jabba the Hutt at Fan Expo Toronto last month. It was being sold at the Hasbro booth for $20, so obviously I snatched it up!

I'm quite happy with it, but that's also because I paid only $20 for it.

I think the asking price is pretty damn steep.

For the $44.99 price, it should be the SDCC exclusive, which came with the hookah and Salacious Crumb.

I wish it was the SDCC exclusive too, he comes with absolutely nothing. Not including Salacious Crumb isn't that big of a deal to me, but the hookah? C'mon.

What would have been really sweet, is if they included a slave.

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

I picked up the sdcc version and the box alone is worth it.

Getting really worried about these up here. Nothing new except Obi wave since... when, summer?

HTS won't even ship the new figures in Blue packaging, who are in-stock, up to Canada.

I have given up on Canadian big box stores to carry these. They are 3 waves behind. No choice but to get them from the quarterly toy shows or online.
