Yeah I was thinking of pics and proof as a way for insurance just incase.

I asked my insurance company about that once. They said for large collections where the items are too low value to be insured individually, just keep an inventory list (like an excel sheet or whatever) and taking photos of your collection room / shelves helps too. They will obviously never replace everything item for item, but will take your records and their past experience into consideration and come up with a lump sum allowance to cover the entire collection. This was for my State Farm (Desjardins) homeowners policy, and of course insurance policies can vary, so it doesn't hurt to check with your company and see what they recommend.
