Re: Haslab Projects General Discussion
Well I give the Joe and SW teams a pass for the last Haslabs I don't know if they had a say in when they were put up for pre-order. However there was clearly some idiotic thinking behind the idea that 3 Haslabs running concurrently, at Christmas time, was a good idea. I think all of them were cannibalized to some degree by the others if they were all released separately, and not at Christmas time they all would have done better numbers. I think the Skystriker would have unlocked all tiers and passed 20,000 if they had released it alone at some other time.
Granted the Rancor was not a great design, and the tiers were an absolute joke. However it would have funded if it was the only Haslab running at the time, and not so close to Christmas.
Reva's lightsaber is a weird choice for a Haslab. As someone pointed out, the price is not that far off of 2 FX Lightsabers to begin with. I guess they couldn't break it up like Darth Maul's saber. Anyway, not having any tiers is also not good, in my opinion, and I don't see it being a Haslab worthy product.
The SW team is making some weird choices, including the decision to release Jabba's Throne Room as a limited preorder instead of a Haslab. I guess we'll see how Reva's lightsaber does in the end.
I can also see them releasing another retail version for one of the other Inquisitors after this one. I think that would hurt this version's exclusivity but Hasbro could claim they aren't the same, just like every other lightsaber.
