Re: Hasbro Power Rangers Lightning Collection Line

I think they should do less smiling faces/head sculpts, or at least not so many toothy grins. Most of the good looking civilian heads are the neutral expression faces, but even then some of those look kinda wack so eh.

I think they often have smiling faces because Hasbro is using the promo pictures for reference and most of the promo pics have the actors smiling in a group shot. Yeah I know, what's stopping them from popping in a DVD or booting up netflix and just picking a different facial expression to use? I don't know but Hasbro is gonna Hasbro.

King Spinx is a great figure. I don't get why he would be one of the worst figures.

Because he just looks like a plain chunk of grey plastic and they didn't bother painting his face. Plus he's much too big to scale with the rest of the line.

Agreed, his wash and paint detailing are decent. I’m not sure what else he could have come with, beyond painting his mouth better.

I don't mind the monsters being slightly bigger than the Power Rangers. Maybe we can get a bigger Goldar down the road.
As for the gray plastic. That's normal. You were expecting yellow?
The face is suppose to be painted. You might have gotten a defect. The eyes, the chin, and slight wash.

To me, Sphinx looks like a cheap unfinished piece of plastic.

Almost like a basic figure... with premium articulation.

But mileage varies.

I don't think it's worth the pricepoint. Nowhere close.

Before lockdown, I saw some at Markham EBs priced at 44.99 .... like why. 50 bucks for that?

Yeah honestly any body who says King Sphinx is okay, is kinda cheating themselves, he really looks like he's unfinished, I was so excited when they announced him, then realized how lackluster his paint apps were on the face, I can't get over how he doesn't even have a painted mouth, no nose paint.. come on Hasbro, Hasbro power rangers team are like barely awake at the wheel, this is really evident by now.

If they couldn't even cost out a little black paint for King Sphinx's nose and mouth, how the hell are they planning to make Eyeguy?
Can't wait for the deluxe $40 paint job to be the same level as the figure from 1994.
