After Low Q2 Sales, Mattel Cutting 2,200 Jobs



As expected, the loss of revenue from Toys R Us looks to be taking its toll on the toy world. Mattel has posted a 14% drop in sales for the Second Quarter of 2018, forcing the toy maker to further trim its workforce. They will be cutting over 2,200 non-manufacturing jobs as well as closing their manufacturing plants in Mexico. Overall, about 22% of Mattel’s work force will be eliminated. Sucks, but if they raised the bar on their products they might not be hurting so much. I’ve spent $600 this year on Marvel Legends. I’ve spent $15 on DC Multiverse. Id love to have more DC characters on my shelves, but the figures are so far below what I consider ‘quality’ now that I rarely ever feel tempted by them.

I know what you mean. For me, it’s also the quality of the sculpts. They’re just not the same. Every once in a while there’s a great looking figure but it’s a rarity IMO.
Are the 4H even working on any DC Multiverse figures any more?
