Re: G.I. Joe Classified Series 6 inch discussion

HP has restocked the 4x WM Retro Classified figures. Finally got Gung Ho, so I no longer need to stalk WM aisles.

So… $500 CAD all in for the Cobra H.I.S.S.

That's a lot.

Yup and has a specific group of buyers...it isn't for everyone. I'd just assume all haslabs will be expensive anyways. This is no different. That said I'm in for this and I think it's a good deal esp with all the bonus stuff included.

I’m basically with ya on this.

The Hiss is nice.

Hasbro’s marketing is amazing. They know their market for this.

But I’m cynical. I‘Ve never been fond of the concept of Haslab for a few reasons. I won’t get too into that here.

But, if McFarlane can do 6 inch scale monster trucks for $80. Mattel can do Castle Grayskull for $80, Landsharks for $40, so on.......

.........I feel like we could have had a price friendly Hiss Tank for a $100 Canadian price point. Maybe not with a light up cockpit and working treads - but an equivalent quality to the Ram Cycle. Heck go $150 with the pilot.

Thats basically why, while I considered the Hiss briefly at the start, I ultimately decided to skip it.

But to each their own. I’m glad people are excited about it and are looking forward to getting it.

I think it looks awesome and I'd love to have one. But the timing isn't good for me. My credit cards have taken a beating in the last few weeks with a whole bunch of pre-orders all being shipped at the same time. Not to mention some pricey vehicle repairs. I just can't add $500 more on top of everything else.

And I really don't have the space for it anyways. I'm trying to figure out where i'll display the Skystriker.

Thanks for this! I've been humming and hawing about whether I really needed this, but honestly I think you put into words what has been bugging me. That they could have made a much more affordable version of this vehicle that people could have even gotten multiple of without breaking the bank.

The way you outlined it above just really drove it home for me.

Yeah I can't justify the $500 price point, as tempting as the product itself is.

$500 is a lot. But the way I look at it is that I can easily spend more than that with just some light army-building.

There are already 10 Army-Building type figures out or planned already. The price of the HISS tank basically represents just one of each of them. And, to me, it's a nicer centrepiece to a display than a gang of BATS
