Now i want to read these books, and i have never read a GI Joe book aside from crossovers with the Transformers

I've read the odd issue of G.I. Joe Cobra. It's a good book, but killing Cobra Commander? It is the comics though, so I suspect he'll be back in a year or two's time. I like the idea of Cobra Civil War, but are they not fighting amongst themselves most of the time anyway?
