Re: DC Universe Classics

I got the first series (which I'm now selling here on the forums) but never found any of the other series at major retail. Couldn't collect them if I wanted to, without paying out the nose.

Re: DC Universe Classics

Here in Toronto, we only had Wave 1 last year at Wal-Mart and that was it.

Recently Toys R Us picked up the line, but they started with Wave 6 (the Kalibak wave). They also recently stocked Wave 7 (the Atom Smasher wave), or at least part of it as I have yet to see a Booster Gold, Blue Beetle or Aquaman at mass retail.

I had to get figures from Waves 2 to 4 from eBay or collectible stores, but I always tried to shop for the best deal (under $20 Canadian before tax), which was difficult.

Re: DC Universe Classics

I went to TRU today to check if they had any Wave 7 or Wave 8 figures available. I grabbed a Helmetless Barda and found out that they have increased the price to $16.99. Crap... I bought the figure anyway because I really wanted this variant. I thought $14.99 was a good price point.

Re: DC Universe Classics

they raised the price? damn that sucks! 14.99 was great for me, but at 16.99 thats alittle to much.

Re: DC Universe Classics

I was surprised when I brought the figure to the cash and it rung up at $19.20 including tax. I told the cashier I had bought some a few weeks ago for $14.99. I even went back to check the price in the isle as I didn't even bother looking the first time. $16.99 does suck but I think it is still the cheapest you can get these. Most LCS sell them for $19.99 or more. No more buying whole sets now. Just gonna pick up the ones I want. I don't know if they increased the price of the 2 packs but if they are still $24.99, that makes them an awesome deal.

Helmetless Barda has a cool body but what is it about the face that makes it so... manish? I'm staring at the thing and I think its the square jawline... or maybe the wide chin... or maybe the pronounced cheekbones.

Re: DC Universe Classics

FINALLY was able to grab the Cyborg Supes/Mongul 2 pack today at Mac TRU. I saw only one other hidden in an army of Green Lanterns and New Gods.

The new price is a little harsh, but what are you going to do?

Re: DC Universe Classics

Well the ML two-packs were $29.99 too. So it's not much of a shock on that front. But $16.99 for a single carded figure reeks of "no one else sells this, gouge!"

Re: DC Universe Classics

Holy crap! I just got notification about DC Universe Wave 11 from my distributer and the wholesale prices went up almost $3 a figure from Wave 9! The build figure is Kilowog. Individual figures were not announced yet.

They totally skipped Wave 10....perhaps another Walmart USA exclusive?
