Re: DC Universe Movie discussion
I would love a Booster Gold movie. Heck, I'd accept a TV show.
Totally agree on MoS being epic.
- People said the pacing was a problem, and the first time I watched it, I felt a more linear story with more time to breathe would have been better, but on second viewing, I had no problems with it.
- The collateral damage - Some people had major problems with basically something like 20 city blocks being levelled. I don't know what to say. In the comics and TV shows massive destruction happens, and it is assumed people die. When Gods fight, yeah, people are gonna die. I think some people like to go through with blinders on, thinking nobody dies in these movies, but people die. It's inevitable. In the Avengers, they didn't show anything, but you bet people died. But I don't disagree if people found the action a bit much near the end. On second viewing, it deemed seem a bit overboard if that's even possible. I don't know what they'll end up doing for MoS 2 or a JL movie. Maybe they'll have to actually destroy the eastern seaboard!
- The ending - I have no problems with it. I know a lot of people did, but I had none. Yeah, when I heard about it I was a bit shocked (some jagoff on the Comicbookmovie comments section spoiled it for me before he got banned) but watching it, I felt the movie had earned it.
- Overall, MoS had everything I ever wanted in a Superman movie. It had heart, story, character - even the minor characters got to shine, and that's the way it should be. Superman should inspire people to do good. Oh, and Superman punching things. Punching EVERYTHING, haha. The flying was also balls-out awesome.
