So I usually don't go in on conspiracy theories about the big box stores, but I have noticed something fishy.
So I know that some people were finding STAS Superman at their local Walmarts for the super clearance price of $0.02.
With that in mind I found some at one of my local Walmarts. When I scanned it, it was regular price, however I noticed that it said Azrael and not Superman. When I looked on the bottom there was a barcode sticker over the original barcode.
Then today I was at another local Walmart and it was the same thing. Scanner said Azrael and there was a sticker over the original barcode. Now I didn't try to peel off the sticker and check the original barcode, but that seems a little fishy to me.
I wonder if this is Walmart trying to put clearance product back on shelves instead of "getting rid" of the product. My understanding is that anything on the shelves at $0.02 is not supposed to be for sale and instead returned to the warehouse, or destroyed. It seems like a rather dubious practice to me, especially considering if a customer pulled something like that it would be criminal. Although of course I doubt a customer would put a higher price on an item.
Anyway, has anyone else seen this at their Walmart?
