There's a video on Youtube that shows the Ep1 midnight opening sales at a Zellers....its amazing..must have been a 1000 figures on pegs plus aisles of products. Miss those days! Now we are lucky to get a 4 foot section and usually half that is empty.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=naIMLx3mb0s&t=36s this is the video. Still think that this was the end of big scale action figure marketing. After this you never saw huge aisles dedicated to one line. You went from wondering when you'd see and item to if you'd see an item. I'm sure its a combination of what MitchPower said about kids not caring as much and the overall lack of stores (no competition for Walmart so why try?)

I was thinking about this today THERE HAS to be a reason for this. I'm just not seeing it I know comics were at an alltime high in the 90's however Superhero/Scifi Pop Culture is more popular and mainstream then its ever been ever! They are cheaper to make then ever! So I wonder what the deal is?

Dropped by TRU last night and didn't realize the save $10 off $20 cards were so easy to get. Stacks on the registers. 'Help yourself!' Make your own ~50% off sale next week starting on the 7th. Two $11 figures for $10 off? Or $10 off a BS6? Ok see you next week! The online code is ROGUEONE10.

Turning this into a yearly event is going to over saturate the idea.

And Hasbro way overproduced Episode 1 merchandise. I mean pallet loads of those figures ended up $2 and even $1 at Walmarts less than a year later.

I can totally see why retailers don't want get sucked back into the same formula again.

I absolutely agree. Boys want video games, maybe role play toys but action figures are to boring for them. obviously not enough money to be made from adult collectors to aggressively push action figures.
Also I think there is a strategy that trickling the product out slowly creates a false demand.

I don't know. I do know that I miss those days of walking into an aisle and seeing fully stocked shelves.

Looks like OT 6" C-3P0 will be getting a Walgreen's exclusive release. This likely means EB Games will get it. Just like how Walgreen's exclusive Punisher is showing up there.

But has anyone seen the Jyn Erso K-Mart exclusive around?

I saw those this morning at Keele/Lawrence, but I didn't bite at $18.xx each

Re: Star Wars Black Series discussion

Here's a code I received from TRU that can be redeemed online. It states it only works for regular priced items but I know people who have used it on sale items as well.

NEWBRU3
$15 off any regularly priced items totaling $75 or more
Expires Oct 31, 2016

Normal exclusions apply i.e. LEGO, videogame hardware, Apple items, gift cards, etc.
