Re: Marvel Legends discussion

[QUOTE=chaingunsofdoom;112083]Since 2019 is over... who were your favorites of the year? No rules, just fun!

- Single figure - wide release animated/comic: Hercules
- Single figure - wide release MCU: end game iron man
- Single figure - exclusive: punisher with skull face

- Larger figure set: Motorcycle cap
- 80th Ann Comic: 80th cap and Hulk tie
- Best 2-pack that never made it to Canada: MCU Quantum Suits (thanks Target).

- Retro: Storm.
- MCU Studio series 2-pack: Hela and skurge
- BAF: Kree Sentry
- Hardest to find: Mysterio. (never seen it)

Anything else?

Oh... and what was the final number of total ML figures released in 2019? 100-150ish? Just a wild guess but it seemed high. too many, I guess like 80

Re: Marvel Legends discussion

I went through a Wikipedia page last night and I stopped counting after passing 120 figures for 2019. With the weird release schedule some went into 2018 and some 2020 went into 2019.

My favourites from 2019 were:
80th Anniversary Colossus/Juggernaut
End Game War Machine
WWII Biker Captain America
80th Anniversary Hulk (not so much the Wolvie he came with though)
80th Anniversary Hela/Skurge

I’m sure there are others, but the sheer volume of them this year does make them all kind of blend together. I don’t know what the count is, but I remember averaging my purchases and I had ‘new’ Legends every three weeks. That’s... too much, honestly. I feel like I appreciate the Star Wars Black Series figures I got this year far more just because I wasn’t OD-ing on them. Even though I kind of want the next three Legends waves I think I’m going to have to start hard passing on the line this year just because it’s becoming too much. Not even touching on the stress of tracking them down (gotta catch em all) or the cost, it’s just that they’re starting to feel less special. The excitement of the constant flood of them has worn off for me.

Going through my home-made checklist spreadsheet, I counted 129 figures and 9 BAFs, and another 6 if you count "doubled up" figures that can be used for multiple characters (Minn-Erva, Wolfsbane, Karma, and the extra 3 Quantum Suit figures). Give or take a few depending on what release year you use for the items around each Christmas.

And when I think about it that way, I realize I've spent way too much on Legends the past few years.

Re: Marvel Legends discussion

The last 2 years have been insane. In addition to the insane amount of releases - I bought 5 80th Caps, 2 80th Iron Men, 2 80th Thors and a few of my cases came with double packs that I kept. I am irresponsible financially.

I feel better, I only have 2 80th CAP and 2 80th Thor, you’re worse than me!

Is there an item number for the stepford cuckoos in the EB system yet?

Oh wow, you’re gone, you acknowledge the problem but in the next breath you are already talking about where you can get your next hit!

There's no coming back, that's for sure.

I asked them this morning and nothing yet. I’d be hesitant to trust that one finding as an official release at Walgreens.
