Re: Hot Toys or other 1/6th goodness that makes our wallets cry

I didn't make Sideshows first shipment of Tumblers. I probably won't get mine until October now

Hi folks! Does anyone know of another Canadian online retailer who has the Sideshow 1/4th Batman PF statue still available for preorder? SPC was the only one I could find and they are sold out.

I've seen the movie about four times now. Didn't care much for her the first time, but she's grown on me. That said, I think she looks... off. It's the same vibe I get from Black Widow. Just... something off about the whole thing.

I think of the two, catwoman looks better.

Either way, by the end of everything, I will have 2 dolls in my collection lol

Catwoman does look better than Black Widow.

They have to make it. They must. Yeah, it probably wouldn't sell that well, since I can't imagine many people would have the room, let alone get permission, to essentially store a giant freaking toy. However, HT should make it purely for the audacity of it. Are HT's made to order? If not, the BAT should definitely be made to order. I'm sure the people who want one will pay whatever to get one. Even if only five ever get made, they should do it. Sometimes it's worth the loss on a product just to have bragging rights, haha. The Bat would become a holy grail piece, and the rep alone on it would be worth it. Hot toys? They're the crazy bastards that made an in scale Bat.

EDIT: What HT should do is what Yamato did with their 1/2000 scale SDF-1 from Macross Do You Remember Love? To cut down on operating costs, they made it as an unpainted, semi-assembled kit. It had about 400 parts, and to avoid missing pieces, it came delivered in a temporarily semi-assembled state - the major parts were essentially taped together, so when you get it, you have to take off the tape, paint, then reassemble. It cost a whopping 200,000 yen, which was basically about $2500 USD (it's the crappy exchange rate that kills us with these import toys). It sold out though. To hardcore Macross fans (more hardcore than me), who had the skill, time, and patience to build the thing. I doubt the Bat would cost anywhere near that, but it would give super hardcore Batman fans essentially the crown jewel in their collection. I would have bought the 1/2000 scale version, but I hate model building. When I got the 1/3000 scale, it took me hours to just piece together the screw covers and smaller parts that I had to glue on. Drove me nuts. But I love the toy. I wish I had the 1/2000 version though, haha.
