Marvel Universe Figure availability
Not sure if this is the situation across the country but here in the Vancouver, BC area stores that carry toys barely have enough 3-3/4 figures to fill one peg.
On my trips across the border I see the US stores have almost a dozen pegs full of figures on average! Why such a huge discrepency??? I understand Canada will always have less but c'mon!

Re: Marvel Universe Figure availability
Canada sucks. We pay way more for the same toy and even when we want to pay, there ain't any to be found. It's sad, but the best thing about going down to the US with my girlfriend is just finding something at Target. It's like toy heaven down there. Here, you go to Zellers and everything is a clusterfuck. You can't find anything and it looks like someone just dumped everything on the ground. Then you go to Walmart and they are discontinuing various lines. And don't get me started on TRU. For a company who does nothing but toys, it's amazing what basic stuff they don't have.
Heading down to the states in a week or two, depending on our schedules. Can't wait. Perfectly happy giving my money to the Americans.

Re: Marvel Universe Figure availability
Tell me about it, if I ever see a newer wave on pegs, it's only 1 case worth and if I check back the next day, nothing. All I ever see nowadays are either an IM, Spider-man or Hand Ninjas

What? You guys are telling me you don't like Hand ninjas?
MAN. Canada does suck. I would be happy to give my money to the Americans too.

Re: Marvel Universe Figure availability
Nothing but AIM Soldiers here. Once in a while if you're lucky you may see a few new things, but other than that, stock is usually really bad. I really hope that when Hasbro rolls out ML figures that they send sufficient numbers up here.

Re: Marvel Universe Figure availability
The problem is the variety of cases that is ordered by the retail chains. Its always the same problem
1. Order a case of an toyline (MU, Thor, Cap)
2. Initial case sells out
3. Retail store buys 10 cases of that same wave
4. Only a case or two is bought
5. Rest of the wave pegwarms
6. Since nothing moves, retailers are hesitant to purchase newer wave cases, so something new hardly comes in
7. repetition of steps 1-6 is the go to play for all retailers
But like the majority, I'm all about going to the states to spend my money. I too will be going to the states, for sept long. So I can't wait

Re: Marvel Universe Figure availability
The WMs around here seem to be restocking wave 9 (mystique) non-stop. Zellers is a dud, and it looks like they jacked up the price of MU to $11.99. TRU has been getting wave 12 (spider-woman), but only one case at a time (most still have Namor & Luke Cage peg warming).
I personally have just been doing my MU collecting through Red5Collectibles. At least I'm guaranteed the figures I want, for a fair price without a long wait for retail. Man, just a good thing that MU QC for paint apps is better than the movie lines.

Re: Marvel Universe Figure availability
I'm from Vancouver, BC and I don't feel like retailers order 10 cases. It's more like they order a case of MU, some goes pretty fast some doesn't and they don't care about the characters, it's just a pack of toy and they think they ordered 20 and sold 12 and there's still 8 on the shelf, then they restock but it's the same stuff. I have a feeling we do get screwed with the case ratios.
It was like back when the Ninja Turtles line for the 2k3 show was still active. Basically Canada gets what's left overs. THat's the answer we got. Explains why some waves are missing, why all the restock are the same stuff.

I just checked out that online store and they have absolutely nothing man! Literally zero products.
But its really too bad there are NO good online toy stores in Canada. Even more hurting, Hasbro doesn't even have a friggin online store like the US.
I don't mind paying a little more for LCS as they need to survive, but prices for the single cards are $15 - 20 a shot, and that is insane.
I really hope to take a trip to the US some day...but time, there is no time.
