McFarlane Sports NHL Series 23 Released in Canada

Thanks to a report by jacobot we now know that McFarlane Sports NHL 23 has been released at Canadian Retail. This assortment includes Alex Ovechkin, Luke Schenn, Teemu Selanne, Gordie Howe, Marc-Andre Fleury and Bobby Orr.

Several "Collectors Level" figures are in this assortment as well in very limited numbers. They are repainted versions of Ovechkin, Selanne, Howe and Orr.

The sighting was made at a Walmart in Ontario.

So I work at a wal-mart and last night i put out 8 cases of this wave. Not a single Selanne or Howe figure were anywhere to be seen, and i'm not just talking chases...anyone have an idea why this is? Pissed me off because Selanne's been my favorite player since i was a kid....daaaang!

Re: McFarlane Sports NHL Series 23 Released in Canada

Looking at the Spawn website it would appear the Gordie Howe Harford Whalers figures are shortpacked in the "collectors Level" crap, as is Fleuy for some reason.

I've yet to see these in MB(I've been looking the last couple days), but I'll let you know hen I see them.

When McFarlane does these shortpacked figures Scalping is a huge issue. I suspect in the Walmarts I go to that someone has picked out the rare figures before they ever hit the sales floor.

At least I saw them wheeling out a pallet last night with the Olympic uniform figures on it and the cases were already open, low and behold the Loungo's were gone.

Edit: Looks like jacobot found lots of Fleury despite its "silver level" designation, so just Howe and Selanne are likely the more difficult finds.

That's the regular Fleury... Every fig has a variant. Check the back of the card.

Been to like 10 stores... No variant yet

They might have an alternate jersey, but over the years not every figure has had one.

Now I thought I read that because of this new "Collectors Level" groups of figures that McFarlane was not going to be doing variations of every figure, but I could be mistaken.

Rob, a local sports store downtown has one of the Gordie Howes if you're wanting it. I do believe it's the home version, so it wouldn't be the rarer away variant.
