Re: Mattel's SDCC Exclusives

SDCC is the time of year when I most look forward to reveals. Unfortunately, I am pretty disappointed by Mattel's offerings. The only one that really interests me is Stay Puft, but not at $70.

I might get a Swamp Thing, and I might go for the Voltron, but a non transforming Voltron kind of sucks. If I buy a non-transforming robot, it'll be a Revoltech, where the articulation and show accuracy is top notch.

Hopefully Hasbro's offerings are better. So far, the Zarana looks great, but I am dreading yet another potential Captain America MU offering. Grrr! On the plus side, I may actually not spend so much money this year on SDCC items.

I know hasbro is offering a 6" ML Modern Thor, as a kick off to ML re-starting in 2012.

And the Sky Striker in Starscream colors is being offered for GI Joe Fans. That one is going to be the hardest to get for sure

Yeah, the GI Joe offerings are great. The G1 Sky Striker will probably sell out at the con, considering it'll be Joe and Transformer fans both vying for the same thing, similar to the fiasco over Sgt. Slaughter last year with the Joe and Wrestling fans. If we're lucky, it might appear on Hasbro Toy shop for a brief second, or (this is what I am hoping), the GI Joe Collector's Club might get some of those to sell in advance, along with Zarana, much like they did with Slaughter.

I am surprised Hasbro wants to restart their 6" scale. I figured the 6" IM figures were a one-off, but I guess not. I thought they were enamored with the 3.75" scale. I guess they want back into the market that Mattel seems to have covered.

Definately interested in the Queen and hopefully Cringer is articulated but it's not looking too good there. Would like a Stay Puft but since I got no ghostbusters... I think I may skip on the Voltron and wait for the mattycollector.com version they're gonna offer later this yr
